Art Garfunkel missing - is now located

    Art Garfunkel missing in Sweden
Published: söndag 30 september kl 16:02

Swedish newspapers are appealing for the public to tell them if they spot Art Garfunkel, after the American singer failed to appear at his show in Malmö Saturday night, and is now said to have "disappeared".

Julius Malmström, who runs a ticket booking business, says to newspaper Sydsvenskan that "we lost track of him in Gothenburg." The Night of the Proms show at the Malmö Arena last night was cancelled at short notice. The reason given was that it was due to illness.
But Julius Malmström says that the tour had already gone wrong in Gothenburg on Thursday, when Garfunkel was found to be missing from the venue, just before he was supposed to perform in act two. "We could not find him at the hotel either. It's unbelievably bad. I have been in the business for 40 years and never been involved in anything like this".
Night of the Proms also features artists including Anastacia and Sarah Dawn Finer, so the Gothenburg Scandinavium show went on that night without the main attraction.
Julius Mlamström says that he thinks Garfunkel simply left for home after Gothenburg. "In any case, he never arrived at the hotel in Malmö." He says to Sydsvenskan that he had travelled with Garfunkel i Gothenburg and the star was possibly not happy with his voice: "but if you're ill, you go to a doctor and get a sick note for your employer."
Malmström says that Garfunkel is an icon, but that he has behaved badly. "It is a shame if he is going to end his career like this."

They have now found him in US. The most hillarious part was the newspapers wrote "Have you seen Art Garfunkel? Call #####" and the number to the police. People were seriously worried

    Why would he do this?

I kinda like this badass side of him. But I feel sorry for people who wanted to hear him. But were met by The Sound of Silence

I hate to say it, but not many care since he went missing from Paul Simon...

I like him. I even have an album with just him, no Paul :O
I really love Paul too. I love them both :-)

Most people don't know this, but I briefly had a folk music career in the early 60's, and I was performing with Art Garfunkel before he met Paul Simon.

Sadly, there was only one Satan & Garfunkel single that made it to the charts, "Hellward Bound".

I'm sitting in the railway station
tricking you into giving up salvation
On a tour of one night stands
                  Pitchfork and pentagram in hand
And every Black Mass clearly planned
For a Devil and his one man band

                  Hellward Bound
I wish I was Hellward Bound
Hell - where the souls are crying
Hell - where the damned are frying
Hell - where the fires are burning
                  Violently for me

Best S & G cover ever recorded. Yep, "American Tune" from that HBO special in Central Park from 1981 or so simply rules, particularly in the aftermath of 9/11.

If this fails to move you, then you are already dead. The song describes the lifespan of a butterfly, believe it or not.

And this is just plain cool.

Great tune! They had many. And they all seem to end too quickly, but it's just a sign of the times.

Yes, the cookie monster vocal style wouldn't catch on until much later.
