    Van Halen and Europe

    Hope Eddie´s recovery really works.
I´ve got a question, What about the concert dates in Europe?
When the tour began one of the first serious rumours was a tour over Europe. Some days later the european tour was cancel... and till now.

Please if anyone knows a little ray of hope for the european fans...

    LOL!

I actually saw them once open for Def Leppard. the best part of their set was I went to buy beers & found a $20 on the ground in the beer line. SCORE!!!!

And back in those old days a $20 was actually like $10,000 in todays dollars! (my old man - damn you kids, get off my lawn statement for the day)

I think 2013 will be a huge year for Van Halen. Eddie is on the mend, Wolfie has been keeping his chops up, and Dave has been meditating with monks. It's all coming together.

(And Alex has been writing monthly alimony checks)

Frankly, I think any "rumors" of VH coming to Europe originated with European fans....

I know I never heard or read anything remotely close to VH coming to Europe....

I have been searching for any info regarding Europe with a magnifying glass, I never found anything that indicates that they'll come here.

Europe might be touring Europe before VH does...they need to do another album then do Canada and US before getting sick again and cancel any other plans their tour manager has for them...I think the problem might be with the M&Ms
Now who`s that babe with the fab-u-lous shad-ow?

Obviously they´ll be touring Europe sooner or later, it´s only a matter of time.

    Rumors in Europe :

VAN HALEN CANCEL PLANNED EUROPEAN TOUR DATES :

Van Halen have cancelled their planned 2012 Summer Tour of Europe before the dates were even announced. But because planning was so far along for the tour - the dates and venues were already locked in. But there has been no reason given to promoters for the cancellation. Simply that it was not going to go ahead.

    The cancelled dates were:

    May 28 Paris bercy
    May 30 Zuerich Hallenstadion
    June 1 Barcelona Pala Jordi
    June 3 Milano Arena Fiera
    June 5 Dortmund Westfalenhalle
    June 7 Sweden Rock Solvesborg
    June 10 Download Festival Donnington
    June 13 Stuttgart Schleyerhalle
    June 15 Hellfest Clisson France
June 17 Fields Of Rock Festival Holland
    June 19 Berlin O2 Arena
    June 21 Prag
June 23 Grasspop Metal Meeting Belgium

That's it for now... but stay tuned as always

I wouldn't be so sure. The amount of people that buy tickets in US and arenas they play in US is impossible task in Europe.

I once read an interview where Eddie was saying he doesn`t go out much...I guess he didn`t lie about that. Other than a couple of tours when they were at their prime, the Van Halens are a pretty sedentary breed...

Yeah, but in my country it's just one festival. In the south, in the mud, in the middle of nowhere. I'm not a festival person :-/

I did attend many festivals years ago. What can i say. The problem isn´t the location, the big problems are the small length of some concerts, That you have to see many bands the same day (I prefer to see one or two bands and enjoy the total experience), usually sounds worse than normal concerts, another problem is the controls to access the festival (queue and queue for anything), something as easy to go to the bathroom would be an epic adventure...

That is the point, everything is so difficult. You can't just take a shower, eat properly at a table, you have to have sex in the mud...

When I see bands I wanna be at home during the day and shower, put make-up on, look fantastic, have some sort of ticket that guarantees the front row and I'm happy.

Guaranteed front row, your majesty? Seems like you'd be the difficult one to take out.

Tell you what, I'll meet you at the show back in the nosebleeds and we can sneak around the back of the food tent, smoke a joint and make out, laugh a little and enjoy the music, then rent a cheap bed and shower after the show if you still ain't tired, and you can leave your face on the pillow for the maid to clean up in the morning.

You couldn't be more wrong. You are talking to a girl that loves Yngwie concerts and those are all about filth and violence. It maybe came out wrong. There are tickets that you can buy and they let you in earlier.
    I just don't like festivals.

What's with all the shower talk? Most Europeans only shower once a week whether they need it or not... One can usually smell them approaching 20 meters away on any given Wednesday...

BTW... What has Europe done for VH lately?

Are you kidding??? Lucky you!!! Everytime I see Yngwie I count on being beaten black and blue when in front row. And I am not exaggerating, I have big troubles getting out of bed couple of days after. It's mad over here.
