Is it this one: Van Halen 1981-09-01 Memphis, TN DVD BTB Upgrade?
I think that's the one I have. It's a little temperamental though. Let me see if it's multi cameras. If it is it's yours.
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
Nope - mines a single camera. Sorry dude
I've got the Nashville show in right now - is there more than one version? I swear I think mine is single. Let me watch for a little bit. Hell - if anybody wants mine it's theirs, even if it's a single cam. No problem.
my Nashville 4/27/2012 DVD is crap(single cam, no menu). so I need to upgrade it.
and yes, I have the upgraded Memphis 1981 DVD(Dual-Layer).....
Don't notice most of my posts are less than 2 lines...

The 81 Memphis DVD is a camera on a tripod at the sound desk. YES....I did not explain myself properly....so much else on my mind these days.....the September 1981 Memphis DVD BTB upgrade........I have seen some of it on youtube....I just want to to have in my collection, and I know that BTB is the best version of anything....even though the video quality is about a 5 out of 10, and the audio is distorted and you can't hear the drums very well (what do you want from a 1981 video camera mic?).
I mean, how many complete 81 shows are available on DVD? This is the only one....Christ I wish Ed would get some footage out of the vaults and let it see the light of day....
Nashville Multi-cam is the shit. 2-DVD disc, menus, has over 150 different video clips from at least 30 different cams...not all of them are HD, but I would say at least 75% is (though DVD is not true HD...at least it appears most of the source video is HD). And it has killer sound. It is the Kozmik Dezigner release.
Probably one of the best of the 2012 tour. Definitely a better editing job than anything out there, as most of the multi-cam stuff out there usually has about 10 cams at most....and does not take advantage of all the available footage....there are at least 3 DVDs of the Nashville show where it is just single cam footage, and 2 of them have also been released as Blu-Ray as they were shot in 1080p. The footage from those cams were also used for the Kozmik Dezigner multi-cam.
Donnie, if you have the BTB upgrade of the Memphis 81 show I will trade you a copy of the Nashville Multi-cam.
Cato....I would love to send you a copy by snail mail but the postage would kill my bank account, lol.
I asked a friend of mine to upload it to the net, but it has not happened yet. So Donnie, perhaps you could help spread it around a bit.....

HR - I don't have the 81 DVD. I only have a single cam DVD from 2012. I offered Jcrizzy everything I have for a trade. But no luck. Hell - I'd pay money for a copy of th 81 show.
Patience, man. Cato has it....someone else around here will have it. They don't call this Roth Army for nothing, lol.
Hello? I have the 81 show.. I'll be more than happy to send one your way.
On DVD? Uh, I sort of said I would send you this Nashville thing anyway......you sent me the Nashville Steecoe vid on a dual-layer DVD if I recall.
Since the Nashville multi-cam is a 2 disc set, consider the Memphis 81 show as disc no. 2 you have sent me, lol. So we will be even.
PM me your mailing address....I threw the envelope away.
Am burning your copy now.
Roth on!

Got the BTB Upgraded Memphis 81 disc today. Am watching it right now.
I was not expecting great quality, from what I had seen on youtube.
But I was pleasantly surprised. The sound is not that bad......typical early-80s video cam microphone.....so there is not much low end, but for the most part the audio is clear with minimal distortion. Yes it sucks when the cam is zoomed all the way out. It's ISO sucks fucking ass. Really dark video....unless ALL the stage lights are on at once....and the cam operator pretty much left the camera zoomed to one spot....only occasionally changing it. AND....considering they used 1000-watt par cans, the colors are pretty much washed out. Seems to be a lot of green used in the lighting design. But mostly all you see is white light, and of course the guys in the band are pretty washed out as well.
That said.....the complete EVH solo is great.....and the first half of it the cam operator zoomed in on Ed as much as he could with the shitty cam......
So I am digging it. Great props to BTB for doing the best they could with what they had.
And thanks Vain for sending it. One more valuable piece to add to my CVH DVD collection.
Great thing is, this being a show from 1981, it is nothing but early stuff......I Can't Wait To Feel Your Love Tonight.....lotsa stuff they don't play anymore. I'm On Fire......
Dave to Al: "AL!............AL!...............AL!!!!.......... .HAVE YOU BEEN FUCKING DRINKING AGAIN?!?!?!?!?????"
Really cool.
But why ramble on? It is on youtube.
Thus endeth the review.
great.

Holy krap!
Me wants! Me wants now!
Is it a BTB remaster, Cato?
no, it's a silver stallion remaster.
Well....one of these days.....
