1980 Invasion Tour
They brought out that camera each night of the tour during " Ain't Talkin' Bout Love ".
It was schtick, to hype up the audience into thinking their town was special enough to be filmed. L.O.L. You can hear it on the bootlegs.
Dave said in his book, they filmed a lot of " private home movie " stuff back then.

Awesome shot. But yeah, pretty sure Dave is on record somewhere saying half the time there was no film in the cams, and that they and the mic (this predating the wireless age) weren't even plugged in...
Van Halen was notorious for making each town think they were number one. LOL! I saw most my VH shows in smaller college towns. Dave would really play it. He would go, you motherfuckers here make New York City and Madison Square Garden look like Afghanistan! Of course the crowd would go ape shit. LOL!
