Six Strikes And Comcast Slowly Fucks You Over

    Check this out:

    http://bigthink.com/ideafeed/interne...-out-sort-of-2

"By the end of this year, major Internet service providers including AT&T and Comcast will institute the Copyright Alert System, which is designed to mitigate Internet piracy by using a "six strikes" rule...Outright banning isn't prescribed in the plan, but it's still an available option to providers."

"The strikes range from a simple e-mail alert to possible "temporary reductions of internet speeds, redirection to a landing page until the subscriber contacts the ISP to discuss the matter or reviews and responds to some educational information about copyright, or other measures."

So in other words, this is not really a ban in the truest sense but more of we'll slow your "wang dang sweet pootang" watching speeds down if you do not obey your already corrupt internet provider. Oooh, bad news for all of you who pirate your porn.

Now I wonder if this transfers to sites such as this with YouTube embedded video posting(s) where the material may be "copyrighted."

It goes both ways. The internet can be a source of freedom or an enslaver. The same with smart phones. All the control freaks see the possibilities. Above the cloud monitoring, tracking, replacing cash with electronic money. It can be good or bad. I always hear people say how great technology can make our lives but the thing is, technology is just a multiplier. It makes your life better if society has ethics and morals. It can make life a living hell if people with no ethics or morals get ahold of it. Now I notice the UN wants to get in on internet regulation.

You used to hear people say, "It's my constitutional right". "Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me." "It's a fucking free country and I can say what I damn well want!" Everyone used to know, that right to free speech overshadowed any offense what was said or who was hurt by it. I don't know. I think having so many people witness the tyranny of the Nazis and Japanese Empire and then later having the Soviet threat, it made people realize freedom was important. It's when those threats were gone and the world got better for awhile that people really started to take the freedom for granted. In many ways the Soviet Union was our best friend. It motivated us to do things we never would have done like put a man on the moon and it scared us to the point where we didn't take our freedom for granted. I can remember sitting in current events in junior high and we were talking about what we would do if the missles launched. I never thought I would see the Soviet Union go away in my lifetime. When that wall came down it was surreal. I never thought I would see the US be such an aggressor but with no soviet threat, and having the biggest military on the planet, it can be. I never thought I would see the US behave this badly.

Comcast and AT&T's idiot attempt to supposedly do something about piracy is just a ghost of a policy....there is absolutely not a goddamn fucking thing they can do to stop it.

Any script kiddie can circumvent anything they do to try to prevent downloading of whatever people want.

I guess those that thought it couldn't happen, is starting to see the fruits of your vote. Obama is a UN stooge and in another 4 yrs. this country won't be recognizable anymore.

Wait, this is coming as well, and you will either be on the side of freedom and the US constitution, or the other side that wants to strip away the 2nd amendment of Our freedom to bear arms in this country.

Once we lose control of our guns as a society, we will lose control over our government. They will have the power to do as they like without resistance. This is not how this country was formed, fought over and won.

Well, it seems that cheap cunts at corporate HQ's that are known as internet "providers" have found ways to keep costs down and stifle innovation by using flimsy "copyright infringement" excuses. The real reason is that they do not want to continually upgrade infrastructure and increase internet speeds. I think almost every study shows that a relatively small number of people actually "pirate" films and music, and those that do probably know enough to get around the bullshit. All while the U.S. slips more and more behind countries like South Korea and those in Europe in internet speed and coverage...

Dude, as soon as the dollar crashes (and it will) there will be a new currency (possibly cashless) for the western world backed by about a $3000 per ounce gold standard that the globalist bankers will use to trade oil on the world market...

Combine that with the UN to be the Global Gun Nanny® taking away our 2nd amendment rights and it's all over...

BTW, there should be a little more flexibility with internet copyright laws...

For instance, maybe a one time copy allowance per isp for personal use of any legal internet media...

And then prosecute those that are trying to sell movies on the black market...

Um, we've been hearing this nonsense since the early 1980's at least. Really since after WWII. Art Bell used to advertize buying gold in the early to mid-1990's. It's about as believable as the plot of the new Red Dawn, where we're invaded by North Koreans...

You want to buy overpriced gold because of all the other paranoids, go ahead. But if it gets to that point, it will be stolen from you anyways...

Here I agree. They should largely ignore the downloading of shitty copies of films and worry more about physical DVD's being sold. I think a recent study showed that less than 7% of adults actually downloaded anything substantial...

I'm not saying I've ever done it, but if I did and really liked the film, I'd buy it on Blu-ray anyways! It's not even like you can go down to Blockbuster anymore and rent the fucking things!

    You are absolutely right.

But then...the stuff I want is either public domain, out of print, or cannot be bought anywhere. Stuff the gummint does not bother with.

But if I want something, it is easy to get it, and it is easy to do so in a way the gummint cannot stop.....only people who are ignorant about computers think it can be stopped...

The government DOES focus on bootlegging of physical DVDs, CDs, etc.

For the most part they have more important things to worry about though.....like terrists, etc.

And yes....if a movie or software or whatever is, say, 8 gigs in size, that will prevent 75% of people from actually considering downloading, as the file size is so huge it would take days to download....and most people do not have the patience or that fast of a broadband connection.

Me neither, when it comes to the actual video recognition. The sound quality on the other hand, is remarkably improved. Comparing a standard issue DVD with a Blue Ray copy reveals a contrast audio-wise that is like night and day in difference.

Buying gold in the early 90's would have been a good move. I wish I would have bought more at $300/ounce.
