So is Jack gonna run up the body count over the next 4 hours/weeks (or however many episodes are left).

Took out the traitorous trailer park ho last night. You knew that one was coming. Still waiting for Charles Milhous Logan to get what he deserves though.

Didn't expect Freddie Prinze Jr to bite it like that. Dumb move, locking yourself in a bank vault with a lunatic, I guess.

There's no reason to leave anyone behind since the show is over soon... they should have had her shoot him before she took off with the card, cash and passport.
Based on the promos I saw for next week, Prinze isn't dead yet.
Once Bauer learns that Logan is behind all of this, Logan's ass will be grass.

You really have to wonder who (if anyone) will be left standing after this ends. At this point, with Jack apparently going bonkers, he may die as well. I just don't see him being allowed to walk away from all he's done and be with his daughter.

I think you could kill Bauer and still do a 24 movie with Bauer in it.
Are people not gonna go see it because Bauer died on TV?
BTW, I don't think a movie will ever get off the ground with the show being canceled.

I'd tend to agree with you, but aren't they still doing the movie? If so, Jack and a couple of the regulars will still have to be standing when this season ends...

    LOL... right.

I'm a big 24 fan, and I'd go see a movie... but I don't think 24 has the kind of mental case fan base that Star Trek always did.
I think once the show ends, people will kind of forget about it and will have a hard time getting excited for a movie.

They'd have to do things the right way. Start with syndication, then make a cartoon. Start holding conventions, and sell series related merchandise. Within ten years, the audience would be primed for a movie!

So now Jack knows that Charles Milhous Logan was behind the Russians sabotaging the peace deal. I predict Logan gets what's coming to him next week.

How is Jack gonna take him out?

Sure enough. That was hard core when he shot the hot blonde chick last week. Least he could done was to get her to show here tits first.

Supposedly the show is gonna end with a unhappy ending for Jack....

Wonder if that means Logan gets away.

Series finale was a letdown, IMO. Especially after all the buildup in the 1st hour, the seeming cliffhanger in the middle of the 2nd, and then....meh.

Kinda like when they had to fake Jack's death so he could hide from the Chinese... now he has to hide from the Russians... big deal.
Couldn't the President have pardoned him before she steps down? Oh well, who cares... it's over now.

Not necessarily, as it clears the way for the rumored big screen version. I truly believe that is why some things were left dangling. It has been mentioned that the film would take place in Europe, so the ending (with Jack on the run) makes perfect sense. You'll notice that while Logan was in bad shape, it was hinted that he'd survive. This could be a pivotal plot point, in combination with the Russians coming after Bauer. As for just what sort of support he'd be getting overseas (CTU? Some behind the scenes US government intervention?), it remains to be seen. I'm looking forward to the film, as I believe this is definetly not over.

Nope, lame ending. Plus the set up for Jack to go full-out completely bonkers was tamed down in the last 45 minutes. Of course you knew all along he was going to survive but the finale was so haphazardly thrown together trying to close some plot points while creating others. It could have been done better.

I had to quit watching 24 a couple years ago. It was just way too much stress for me. Plus, I really hate shows that continue each week. I have a short attention span and like the in & out start and conclusions of 1/2 hour shows...or even a few 1 hour shows. But the new trend of shows that just are a constant storyline I can't watch.

For you fans that would know, I quit watching soon after the nuke went off in CA. Did they ever discuss that later on? Like, was the whole area of So CA basically abandoned & cut off from people now? Honestly, they would have to re-route major freeways and block off the entire radioactive area for how many years?

Show was way to stressful for me.

I know they had to leave Jack alive and 'on the run' in some way to serve as a cliffhanger for the big film, but I was hoping they were going to do it in a different way... maybe after he ripped out Logan's throat MacGruber style.
I was just trying to make the point that the ending seemed a bit like a rehash... the same way Jack turned up working in an oil refinery under an alias, he'll turn up in Europe in the same manner... under the radar until something pulls him back in.
24 was such a groundbreaking series, I felt it deserved more of a send-off... just seemed kinda lazy to me.

Oh, I agree that it was a bit of a let down. The thing is, if the producers wrapped everything up to consolidate the series as ending, they'd truly be putting themselves behind the 8 ball when trying to construct a movie franchise. Then again, they could have ended it like LOST, something I still haven't figured out. ABC reruns the final episode this weekend, so maybe by reviewing it I might understand just what in the hell took place. Between that and the Sopranos, I may never watch a so-called series finale again. Why these networks can not simply conk you over the head in a final episode (like Newhart or St. Elsewhere) these days is beyond me.

    I PVR'd Lost...still have to watch that.

But...yeah...24 ended with a wide open door and an empty feeling.

Seemed real lame how the Pres told Jack that they will going after him...

Still think the M*A*S*H* finale was the best one... even though I didn't like the BJ/Winchester/Potter years as much as the Trapper/Blake/Burns years... Hawkeye's breakdown after causing a Mother to kill her baby was pretty compelling.

Exactly. Bauer even said that he would have been more than happy to accept legal justice for those involved in Walker's death, but that was swept off the table by the President's (in conjunction with Logan) own illegal actions. Look, two wrongs don't make a right, and Jack's admission to the President at the end that they'd both made mistakes rang awfully hollow, particularly in the light of the fact that the real patriot in all of this was Bauer. It simply didn't make sense, and seemed to merely help the plot move along to an ambiguous and ill-thought out ending.

Ya know, here we sit decades later and I'm still kicking myself in the butt over that. About 3 days before the finale aired, the National Enquirer ran an article on that last show, complete with the then unheard-of thing of spoilers. Like a nitwit I read the darned thing, and so knew everything that was going to happen in advance. I've avoided them ever since.

But the pseudo reunion episode on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' was great... well, maybe not the pseudo Seinfeld episode, but 'The Table Read' was great.

I was hoping Hassan's widow (or his daughter) would kill the Russian commie bastard. And Charles Milhous Logan merely being "wounded" was a huge disappointment.

    What a let down...

How in the hell do you keep the ending the same...as though it were a season finale, and not a series finale...

I was hoping upon all hope that the movie rumors were just a ruse, and that Jack was going to die. The end of season one should have had the assassination of Logan...especially after that wink.

But to have fucking Jack mow down half of NYC, then to go out with a whimper...was a let down. I was hoping...THEN...that Jack and the president had some sort of outside deal. To have her turn crooked felt a bit empty.

Personally...they should have had Jack staring down Logan getting away in hour two...

with about ten seconds left...he says something into an earpiece in Logan's ear...Logan looks his way...Bauer winks...

the clock clicks down the last three seconds...then...after the last second clicks...a gunshot...

    game...set...match...

Jack's alive...kills Logan who killed President Palmer...

and the movie is set up so that he can do whatever he wants...freelance spy...working for the pres...on the run...CTU director...who the fuck cares...

    they fucked up...

You should be writing for the show, I like your ending(s) better.
