I mean c'mon! A lot of stuff they did outside of the recording studio back in the day was fuckin' hilarious.

Yes, yes and.... yes!!

I have a screenplay treatment in my head that goes from their births to the December 20th 1977 show at the Pasadena Civic. Based on what I've learned through the years, it would one serious yet funny m'fuckin film.
...and the only people that would watch it are right here at the Army...
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."
I dunno about that. Some seriously insane shit went down between '74 and '77. Some people don't encounter experiences of these proportions in an entire lifetime.
Seriously...a Van Halen biopic in 2012 or beyond wouldn't be viewed by many...it's folly to think otherwise...
1985-1998...perhaps...
but now...it's just a TV Movie...or an indy...
Indy it is. I'm going to get started.
Please have a draft on my desk before end of day today...

I Love Hair Pie.
First Roth Army Kiwi To See Van Halen Live 6/16/2012 Phoenix Arizona.
Ok, I'll incorporate hair pie. My backyard party scenes will be adorned with honeys wearing bikini bottoms similar to the Black Crowes Amorica CD cover.
Sounds like Project X with a bad ass band to blame for all damages.

Yes, there is plenty of material to make it funny - but I'd rather see it funny like 'Dazed & Confused' is funny but also serious and cool at the same time. Personally, I'd much rather a professional documentary with previously unseen archival footage. Do you have access to any?
My karma just ran over your dogma.
Maybe funny in a Shakespeare comedy sorta funny...
You talking to me? I'm just some schmo with an idea for a screen play and a desire to try and whip one up right. I know I wasn't there when it all happened, but then again, was Oliver Stone with Jim Morrison on dawns highway bleeding while ghosts crowded the young child's fragile egg shell mind?
That was for you Poj. G'head. Hit the thanks button. Just once. You'll feel better. Lol
Who could play Dave? Certainly that guy from Shit Panther... (Sorry, I liked them better as Atomic Punks)
Dave can barely play himself in Van Halen...
I was just gonna say that
fuck your fucking framing
All unknowns. No celebs in the movie.
Except David Grohl. He apparently insisted on playing the parts of Alex, 2 different roadie friends, the guy who gets knifed to death at one of their biker bar shows and Michael Anthony's kid brother.
Damn, that guy is everywhere.
Beck needs a part...but something random...
like a pimp on Sunset...
