Turned out to be a decent year for Van Halen...at least the first half of it.
Solid album, North American tour, overall solid performances by the band as a whole...
Bit of a shame the band were unable to go tour abroad: sometimes I feel a little bit guilty taking the combo of being a Van Halen fan and living in the States for granted, since there are plenty of great people on this board who live abroad and would love to see the band play without the costs of transoceanic plane fares.
Here's to hoping the band play some gigs overseas this year.
I agree 100% --- outside of a few Canadian cities, international VH fans have been fucked out of a Roth-led VH since 1984.
I'm going to be a classy, non-selfish American and hope that 2013 is purely overseas gigs for VH. Take that stuff to Japan, Australia, and Europe, motherfuckers!
