Am reading a bio of Joey Ramone, written by his brother.

At the same time the Ramones were in New York City, future filmmaker Allan Arkush was in Hollywood working for Roger Corman, B-Movie King....."I wanted to make a movie about blowing up a high school......at a meeting at Warner Bros., " Alan remembers, "a guy named Carl mentioned some bands like Van Halen and Devo, which I passed on."

WB had just bought out Sire Records, and the Ramones were on that label.

The rest is history.....
