Thanks for the Blabbermouth story Va Beach...it's more relevant to what we are talking about here. I think the Vegas Magazine story was more about some club he's got there - can't even remember now. I think it's pretty obvious this rumour was planted with the Aussie radio media by you know who, to generate some publicity and just to stir the pot...

I had just posted a thread on same question (disregard the post, I didnt know one had started) ...I saw this article and didnt know whats going on with DLR and sammy joining together/ WHAT? Does anyone have more info on this? Or if they have dates....
This claims it will be annouunced soon.....Im not sure about a tour with DLR AND sammy....and does anyone know if Wolfgang is coming agian?

Legendary rocker Sammy Hagar (CHICKENFOOT, VAN HALEN, MONTROSE) has revealed to Las Vegas Magazine that he is currently in the studio with his group the WABORITAS "rehearsing and writing songs." He added: "We're putting something out this year and we'll probably go out and do 25-30 shows."

Hagar revealed in a holiday video message that CHICKENFOOT will take 2013 off to focus on other projects. He said: "Joe's [Satriani, CHICKENFOOT guitarist] doing his thing and Chad's [Smith, CHICKENFOOT drummer] just coming off a [RED HOT] CHILI PEPPERS tour and he's not gonna wanna go into the studio. So I think Mikey [CHICKENFOOT/ex-VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony] and I and the WABOS, we'll just go out and do some stuff." That "stuff" will likely include "more shows, maybe a proper tour" and possibly even a new record."

CHICKENFOOT recently reissued its gold-selling 2009 self-titled debut as a double-disc set. The new version features bonus live tracks recorded on the group's tour behind its sophomore studio effort, "III"

CHICKENFOOT's most recent touring lineup included legendary drummer/musician Kenny Aronoff, who was filling in for Smith while Chad was on the road with RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.

Wouldn't really matter an iota to me if Roth and Hagar co-fronted a Van Halen tour, trading off lead singer duties...

It's not like there's some mandate that makes it obligatory to go see such a thing...and even though these rumors in the thread are assumedly bullshit, I wouldn't put it outside the realm of possibility. If I look at Van Halen's history, they had twenty years (1985 to 2006, with a very, very short period in the middle of 1996 put aside) of consistently fucking up...far more years of a continual stream of bad choices than they had years of excellence...

Just because the last 6 years have been better than the twenty odd years that came before them doesn't mean one necessarily believes the Van Halens have broken their addiction to making bad decisions.

IMO the show would be a train wreck from a CVH fan point of view: UP for Dave's portion of the set, and then way DOWN (like, suicidal) for the Mayor McCheese portion. It doesn't make any sense.
