Gives me chills just watching it.
-- NO headset
-- NO dance mat

Just a fuckin' bad ass mid-50's Dave singing his heart out --- bare chest glistening with sweat and making the MILFs moist betwixt the thighs!

Dude, spot on. The 2007 tour in San Diego DTNA was my fav tune of the night. Dave was beyond perfect. Best part is when he does his schtick in the middle & the crowd all sings DANCE DANCE DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY!!
I'd be lying if I said I didn't well up when I was at the show.
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”
All we can hope for is that EVH and AVH have a sit-down with Dave before the tour starts and tell him to get back to that '08 form --- the higher register shit can not rear it's ugly head again.
Hopefully, the taped on dance floor will be a relic of the 2012 tour and not make an encore appearance, either.
Well, I'm sure all the martial arts lessons in Japan will do him some good.
How do you spell pretentious? S-A-M-M-Y H-A-G-A-R
DLR carried em that tour, no doubt. Glad I got to see Dave that go- round. Wish he could find that mojo again though - it was missing in 2012.
My karma just ran over your dogma.
I hope he's ALIVE for another tour....
don't give a fuck what he looks like...........
don't give a fuck aboot no "FUCKING HEADSET"..............
Aslong as he's there......
WTF?!?
Amen!
Dave has attempted to "expand" his range twice in his career now with forced excursions into the head voice - once in 94 and now again in 2012 - with disastrous results for his performance and damaging results for his vocal chords during the tour. I can see the reasoning behind it in DLR's opinion - let's build the chords, have an increased vocal range etc. This technique may be fun for in the studio time when you have an hour between songs to rest, but for live shows it just results in him trying to force out too many high notes, wear out the pipes, and stress his voice to the point of DAMAGE - you can hear it in his voice when he SPOKE post tour.
DLR is a BARITONE and I agree the brothers need to shake sense into him to sing in chest voice in baritone range during live shows. Going into the head voice should be reserved for the end of a show for certain notes only otherwise his voice will not last an entire show let alone a whole tour.
In other words, yeah, what he did in 2008!
No, bring back the 2002 Dave! Watch a show from that tour and he's having a hell of a good time.
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
I'm not a mid-40's MILF that goes to a VH show --- but I have a gut feeling that ladies want to see a bare-chested Dave just throwing all the passion into the singing --- not shimmying across a taped dance mat in a blue lame shirt and barking into a headset.
Keep it simple and sexy for the femmes, Mr. Roth!
Hence my reference to the '02 shows...
I hope any version of Dave turns up in the UK some time soon
I really love you baby, I love what you've got
Let's get together we can, Get hot
Let's hope this returns:
Dave (never thought I would say this) could take a hint from Daltry at the Sandy Relief concert....10% body fat compared to 7%.....prefer him stalking the stage rather than him doing some sort of hambone with a harmonica thing.

Can't Control your Future. Can't Control your Friends. The women start to hike their skirts up. I didn't have a clue. That is when I kinda learned how to smile a lot. One Two Three Fouir fun ter thehr fuur.
As a early-40s MILF I'd have to say that Dave can shimmy, tap dance, whatever...as long as he takes that shirt off! We all know he still has the body to do it, so why not? But I must also admit, even with his 2012 wardrobe, he turned me on! Wouldn't mind a little extra attitude though
Nah, it's not the hair or the clothes or the jumps that's missing. It's the attitude that he had that's missing. I know, everybody will say I'm full of it but you watch those shows back to back with the last tour and it's almost a completely different dude! And if the Roth Shows are any evidence, it ain't that he suddenly grew up and got all serious. But, regardless, it's all about Dave for me and I'll keep buying tickets no matter who's in his back-up band or where he's playing.
"The Roth Show" seems like the same old Dave to me --- it's different because he finally found a proper outlet for his long, rambling "stream-of-consciousness" raps that we only saw in his book and certain interviews. Hard to pull that off in concert. Trust me, even the dog world raps before ICM were getting a little bit weary after awhile. Letting Dave talk incessantly in front of a camera is the ideal situation for a YouTube channel, not a rock show.
I do wish the bad ass party animal vibe would come back a teeny bit, though. Stop waxing poetic about sheepdogs and parents bringing kids to shows and start saying how much he wants to fuck a big-titty MILF in the front row! That's some old school Halen we'd all wanna see again.
This is one of my fave pix from the '07 tour...shirtless with attitude!
Definitely an "I'm trying to keep everybody happy" vibe. He always dresses cool offstage, but lately there's a little carnival barker vibe going on with the stage outfits I don't dig. But I'm not a 40-something MILF going to VH shows either, so who cares what I like... Personally though, if I was gonna raid his wardrobe for stage clothes, I'd want shit like he wore in '07-'08.
I thought Dave would jump on the video stream wagon a long-time ago but he had the lamest website out of anyone in rock and roll. I think Dave is kind of like the rich kid with the trust fund that doesn't have to worry about working for a living. He has the time, money, and resources to do this and that. Whatever looks cool to him at the time he jumps in and does. I think for what he has made over the years he lives pretty frugal. He never had any divorces to take half of what he's worth. He's lived in the same house for years and that is probably paid off. He doesn't seem to blow his money on stupid shit trying to one up the other guy.
Higgins!!!
Jhale nailed it on the head!! That's the problem and it's why I keep pimping the '02 show. Dave was having fun then and it showed. Now, not so much. Ah, and opinions are a lot like buttholes That's just my opinion...
Everybody always says your full of it... we might be starting to believe it.
It's not the attitude... It's the damn dogs... See there wasn't any Russell The Diamond Dog™ chasing sheep nor any Kody the Facebook celebrity spokes-dog in the picture previously. Maybe an old hound dog or two... but just common household pets. But now... our rock-n-roll legends have turned into those creepy middle-aged weirdos that treat their dogs like they are their own children. You know the types... you see them taking Fluffy to PetCo to shop every Saturday afternoon... they refer to themselves as "Mommy" and "Daddy" when relating to themselves or spouses in baby-talk tones to their little 4-legged crappers... They frequent pet psychologists and drop their varmints off at day care centers rather than just locking them in the back yard.
This isn't the realm of Rock Star legends... they've become our creepy neighbors.
"If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”
ZZ speaks the truth!! I don't want to see dog videos at a VH show!! Bring back the Singapore Dicksling!!
The dog stuff is getting a little weird.
Dave found a cool hobby and I'm happy for him. But somehow I think he regrets never having kids and Rusty the Dog is a nice substitute for that fatherly affection that every middle age guy misses once the kiddies get older and move out of the house.
Same thing with Ed --- Wolfie is all growed up and so he needs a little mutt yapping around the house to make him feel like a Daddy again.
I've seen this phenomenon happen with lots of people I know so it's a basic human need at some level --- doesnt mean the fans want to partake in it.
He seemed to lose the mic stand as well in 2012. Always wondered why, as the 07-08 tour it was a big part of his stage presence. It would seem like a pretty basic prop to lean on rather than sticking the mic in his pants. I'd prefer seeing him wail into a mic on a stand the entire show like in the pic above than doing the backwards truck shuffle on the wood floor like he does in the STW vid
Hey, DDE reps - you getting all this?
This Phil Collen (Def Leppard) quote from the first Zloz VH book has me thinking Dave's had this dog hobby for quite some time now.
"One time I overheard Dave seriously talinkg to my mum about dogs and all things domestic. Seemed weird, considering Alex was having a drink off with one of our guys at the same time."
I've always been leery about celebrities foisting their hobbies and causes on the fans --- just rubs me the wrong way.
I remember seeing Jim Carrey on Larry King and other talk shows bloviating about the dangers of vaccines just because he was porking Jenny McCarthy every night. They broke up, and now he seems mysteriously silent about the supposed evils of vaccines. Makes him look stupid and fake. Why couldnt he just fuck that skank silly and support her autistic kid but do it in private?
Dave has every right to run his cattle dogs until their legs fall off --- just be careful about shoving it down our throats because maybe we don't dig that stuff like he does.
