"I have a very belligerent enthusiasm or an enthusiastic belligerence. I’m an intellectual slut." - David Lee Roth
"We are part of the, not just the culture, but the geography. Van Halen music goes along with like fries with the burger." - David Lee Roth
And another one, this one's for you, Dystopian.....
Now I know why most Americans don't have any savings. They are blowing all their dough down at the tattoo parlor.
I owned Soldiers Under Command and saw them in concert way back in 1985ish. The guitar intro to the title song is incredible. LOL they threw tiny bibles into the crowd. But never had a Stryper shirt.
Very very dangerous doing face tattoos. More likely than not it's going to look like a bruised up meth mouth monkey alien. But this one was extremely well done. Hope it hold up to the evils of father time. But for now it's damn good.
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”
So should I be honored or worried that this guy got a Sadaist tat on his arm?
Sadiast, cool. Stryper, no so much.
I'll have you know that Michael Sweet is a Roth Army twitter follower....
That's cool in my book, gosh darnit....
Ok...that IS cool. We better watch our language.
Here's the best "DLR Tat":
I could sorta dig Stryper's music as an 80's teen, but all the lyrics about the Magical Sky Daddy meant I never took them seriously. To me, it's the same thing as Haggis crooning about aliens pulling strings of love. Just because a pea brain believes in that fake shit don't mean anyone else does.
Roth-era VH songs were mostly about whiskey and pussy --- which is perfectly cool because at least I know whiskey and pussy actually exist. Sing a tune about Bigfoot or pink unicorns and I lose interest really fast.
That's stupid...
We just had Stryper at my buddies bar up here this past August...great guys, great show...Oz came inside and jammed afterwards with local band 3 Inch Fury...here's one of the tunes...killer double solo with Oz and Dave King here...
doesn't Lounge know one of the guys from Stryper? Someone here does. I think it's Lounge.
Somebody had to post it. No?
I still say Trouble was the best Christian metal band, but Stryper covering 'On Fire' kinda rules.

Nice. We even have matching pants. Although, it's hard to tell what part of the body this is on.
My guess is it's on his butt. Dude is lying on his side and Dave's jumping over his crack. The only thing missing is Dave's finger pointing down and a speech bubble that says "Poo! Nothin' but poo, BABY!"
