    Kinda cool...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

    I like that a lot...

That setup in a Strat pickguard with would be an excellent tool for finding out what wiring and pickups sound best in any Stratocaster, then hardwire the test results...

It would be seriously useful in the studio, that's for sure.

Combine it with that robo-tuning Gibson Page used a few years back.

    Totally.

But I still think you purists will prefer sitting at your garage workbench drinking beer for hours playing with your soldering irons.

Not sure about a soldering iron in my hands, might be more of a weapon at that point. But I do agree that I'd rather have a handful of guitars and find tones that was versus dialing it in with a computer.
But in a studio situation that thing would be amazing.

You kidding? You wear those soldering iron scars like badges of honor! Nah, I'm kidding... funny part about me doing pickup reviews now, and no matter how much I love checking out a new pickup or 3 every coupla weeks, soldering is still probably my least favorite guitar repair because no matter how much I do it, or have been for however many years, it does kinda feel like that.... a weapon usually pointed at or near yourself...lol

Duncan was even kind enough to send me one of their Liberator solderless volume knobs... my "test" guitar is the one in the entire universe the control cavity is too small for it to fit in... (!!)

Ya, because you are old enough to know the danger.
