smoking can be sexy.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!
I just got the time to watch the Rogan Pod cast interview with DLR it was more than nice and good it was real nice and real good .
The times when Rogan was going on and DLR was listening were interesting to me you don't get where Dave is without listening at times.
Bitching about Rogan talking may take away from understanding Dave.
Good Stuff.
I don't care for Carolla's style so I hope I haven't missed much by not playing that interview.
2015 once smoke 2 smoke ...poke
clara the tiny giraffe make fur curve
That was fun.
It was great when Dave sorta turned things around and started interviewing Rogan about MMA and UFC. I half expected Rogan to say, "Hey, who`s interviewng who here?!"

"She's a man with no dick and she shouldn't be fighting women."
I'm getting through the pod cast in spurts. Damn it's long.
It certainly is. The guy makes a good point there, but man, does he ever beat the dead horse.
If there's doubt in anyones mind (outside of here, of course) about how classy Dave is, I offer this: Rogan set up Van Hagar like a watermelon on a batter's tee for Dave and the man said not one single word. He could have crushed Sammy in an instant with few words, but that's never been his style in handling the putz. He truly is not worth Dave's time and brain power. When the other way around is presented, Sammy flails like a pro basketball player at Dave.
I agree with you Bridge.
Finally got through all three hours of this shit last night, since nothing was on TV.
Interesting at times, though probably a little too much time spent on the whole tranny athlete thing.
Was ironic hearing all the nutritional stuff from the guy who used to host Fear Factor though. A guy who serves up plates of raw goat testicles isn't someone I'm likely to take serious dietary advice from.

Dave really hasn't said anything about the Ched Rocker since he's been back in the band. Even at the press conference announcing the first reunion tour in 2007, somebody asked about Hagar or Mike or whatever and Dave's only comment was something like "This band has many alumni, including myself" and left it at that.
But then, the music speaks for itself, both live and on record. There's no reason for Dave to talk about Spam or Van Hagar. It's completely irrelevant now, and nobody cares, aside from Sammy and a handful of really bitter sheep.
"Sister. How do you know what pot smells like?"
Vallerie Bertinelli was on Stern a while back. It's a good interview because Stern got her talking about ass hair and things like that. LOL! Anyways Sammy came up and Valerie goes I don't know why Sam is still biter. He needs to get over it and get on with life.
She also said David Lee Roth was very smart. Almost too smart.

That was a great response. I also like what Dave said in '06 I believe, saying something along the lines of Sammy being the younger shorter brother whose punches never connected because Dave was holding him back with his hand on his head. I can't do it any justice, but you know what I mean.
To be honest, Sammy Hagar is one hell of a success story. Look at where that dude came from and what he has now. He was a mediocre talent at best but he seemed to know the business side of things pretty good. He built up a successful brand and sold part of it for a lot of money. Heck, not all the Van Hagar songs were bad. LOL! I can tolerate Poundcake. Now Sam. Take that cute wife of yours and your money, and shut up and be happy and go to Maui or Cabo and vanish. The problem is this fuck is driven. It's what made him successful but man dude, Chicken foot sucks, we knew you were in Van Halen so get lost. Please.
Sammy Hagar is the Ronald McDonald or Donald Trump of rock and roll.
As soon as he set that line up, I remembered it from week one of his radio show. It went over better there because nobody was cutting in and asking questions. Rogan was like, "no way, and then what?!"
More Tao stuff: I loved Dave comparing himself to a war time journalist. He mumbles, "can I ask you about that tank over there?" Awesome analogy. Superb self assessment. There is none cooler.
He definitely had the where with all and the tenacity to improve his situation when he was younger. He no doubt, pressed on through hard times. If you read his book, you can pretty much admire him to a degree from his childhood on up through the split with Montrose. Then it's all down hill from there.

"We are part of the, not just the culture, but the geography. Van Halen music goes along with like fries with the burger." - David Lee Roth
I might be also, but after the record sale exaggerations there's a credibility issue.
That and Mike saying if Sam says it's true it is in the forward. Why on earth would he need to say that, isn't it assumed that what someone's saying is going to be the truth? or their version?
Kind of like O'Reilley's 'the spin stops here.' wtf (are they admitting the rest of that network is lies?)
Nothing wrong with reading lies as long as they are entertaining. Come on. You don't think Dave embellishes his stories? I laughed reading about Sammy's big sex romp where he fucked so many girls he no longer could cum. Proabably all BS but it was entertaining to read.
Nothing wrong at all if you're enjoying it.
I did read the two unreleased chapters from several years ago from Sam's unpublished book and then heard about him lying and his bitterness later on but the part about Danniels sure seemed real. I couldn't get past him writing a gossip book about Ed's dark points after Val's. Seemed to catty for someone who should have been grateful someone had a lapse in judgement to let him in the band .
I believe Sammy's recollections of events as they unfolded with Ed and Al, during both stints, are probably more true than not. He definitely gets numeric statistical facts wrong, and the sex romps under the stage while Ed is soloing are probably greatly exagerated. Things he gets into about their initial meeting, the good times they had, the fucked up faux live CD, the recording of Balance and his ultimate canning/quitting all sound quite conceivable.
Yeah, I really wish Mike could undo his forward (aweful), but what's done is done.

Classy, absolutely, but also I bet without anyone in the current band saying anything to him, Dave knows that to make fun or diss Van Hagar's music is to make fun or diss two of his current band mates.
Dissing the Red guy is just a waste of Dave's breath. It would make Hagar more important than he actually is. Besides, we do enough of that for Dave.

When they got o the discussion about nicotine, I was a little disappointed he didn't use one of my all time favorite Roth lines :
"Creativity doesn't come from a glass of iced tea!"
I found the podcast quite entertaining. When Rogan said don't cut your dick off just because you want to pummel women in the ring had me rolling. He seems to understand and know the beast here. There must be some pretty fucked up people wanting to showboat and get their jollies off in that fighting business.

Remind us of that story, he posted here for a bit too didn't he?
Rogan seems to have improved a bit with age, he used to come across as one of those angry little alpha male types with height issues.
He is still as gullible as fuck though if you listen to the previous podcast with a ET con man called Stephen Greer.
The memory is weird as we age....and nothing to do with intelligence. I used to be great with names. I'd meet you once and 3 years later could still remember your name when I saw you. Now? Hell last fall I saw 3 actors that I directed a few years ago. Couldn't remember their names.
Getting old sucks...

Yeah, I choose to believe he just doesn't want to go anywhere near the Van Hagar and Van Cherone discussion. Why rock the boat? Things are going well. He talks to Al every day. There's no need to bring up ancient history now, especially talking about Sam and having him get wind of it and do his blah blah in the media. Then all of a sudden, it's a big deal; when in fact who gives a shit!
And Joe was just making statements about all the changes and how cool it must be for him to be back in the band after all of that. Didn't seem like he was prodding Dave to comment on the other incarnations. Didn't try too hard if that was what he wanted.
Yeah, was only mild prodding I s'pose, but who wouldn't want World War 25 started on their show? He was hoping for some sort of response rather than silence. Dave needs not to discuss disposable chapters.
The MMA chick who once had a dick they were talking about is on CNN right now...
