Think I had something like that with regular vodka a few years back - only it had some fresh pineapple in it, so it wasn't the typical canned or bottled juice. Blended really well with the plain vodka, so I imagine the flavored stuff would work even better.

Ironically enough, though it seems like a "summer" kind of drink, I'm reasonably certain I was drinking them on a winter holiday - probably Christmas Eve... possibly Thanksgiving.

Don't see the Goose Island stuff this far out west very often, but I usually pick some up if I run into it.

The "Bourbon County" stouts they have on their website look especially interesting

They just opened a Total Wine on the west side of town. Haven't made it over there yet, but it looks impressive from the ads they send me every week. I'm guessing it's similar to a place called "AppleJacks" in Colorado.... pretty much the Costco of alcohol.

Yeah, that's an accurate description. It's overwhelming, but in a good way. Do check it out when you get a chance.

There´s only one liquor store here, that sells from time to time the pineapple flavored Vodka, we have a strong imports restrictions, so you never know if you are going to see the same product again, and we don´t have any canned or bottled pineapple juice.

I bought the fresh pineapple to make a Pińa Colada or Painkiller drink, but the Wyborowa Pineapple flavored Vodka made me change my mind, so try it when you can, It´s really worthwhile, even in Winter!!

Is it super hoppy? I find the Sierra pale ale to be a bit much for my taste.

Not, it's not as hoppy. Try a sample in the pub, some should even carry this on tap...

I have no idea how to call this drink, totally improvised.

Watermelon crushed with Citrus Vodka and lot of ice, perfect for Summertime.

I was in Buenos Aires in 2005 and everything felt very inexpensive.

I was talking to someone this week and they were saying it's gone crazy these days and even a beer costs a fortune, is that true?

And if it is true how much was that malt?

A fortune!!! Those are the exact words my husband said, when we found that Single Malt and I told him I was going to buy it for him
I don´t know exactly how much was, I paid it in Pesos, and we cannot buy foreign currency, the goverment is forcing us to keep our devaluated pesos.
But 1 US$ is around 10 pesos at the Black Market, so I paid around 70 or 90 US$.

Some friends invited us to have some drinks at the bar the Sofitel hotel, (I will post some photos soon) and I asked the prize for a night and is around 400 US$, everything cost a fortune, we have a very high inflation.

And it´s gone crazy to say the least. The police went on strike at many provinces and people began to rob shops and homes.
At least 10 people have been killed, and we hope that the looting by mobs will not spread to the capital.

Today is the 30th anniversary of Argentina´s return to democracy, and our Kretin president organized a Megafestival, a huge stage has been constructed in front of the government palace, she should postpone the show.

Looking back it's hugely ironic that Britain won the Falklands war leading us to having 6 more years of Thatcher(she was going to lose the next election before that) who devastated Scotland and was hated here whereas losing the war helped Argentina get rid of her military junta and become a democracy.

    How much was that drink?

Even in 2005 the good hotels were expensive.

Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!

Just bought a 12 of Bud Black Crown. What is wrong with me?

I have never heard of Bud Black Crown before now. I'm not a Bud drinker, at all - not for many years - but if I see it I will give it a try.

Right now I am drinking some kind of white wine - god knows what. I know fuck all about wine, apart from having a slight preference for Spanish reds. Virgin Wines kindly sent me a case of mixed wines (on account of me joining their wine club a few days ago).

All I can say is that it's chilled and it is wet and I am feeling RE-LAXED, so I guess it's all well and good ...

until tomorrow, when I wake up to discover that I have had, well, more than one bottle.

    cheers!
