Hindsight being 20/20 Vietnam was a waste of resources and lives. Kennedy was getting us out of there and that asshole Lyndon Johnson got us into a full fledged war. Let's say we won the war and took the country over. Now what? We would have just ended up giving it back. I think a lot of this right wing anti-muslim rhetoric is to sell more military action in the middle east including an attack on Iran.
