    Miami did win last year.

The level of competition is much higher. Last year the Mavs played 2 brutal 7 game series against the Spurs & Suns, before going to the finals. I know I'm biased because my team is in the west. But to me, that's 3 finals in a row the Mavs had to play. I think the top 5, maybe 6 playoff teams in the West, would beat the Cavs. The 6, 7 and 8th spots in the East had a losing record going into the playoffs. None in the West. The 5th seeded Rockets had the same record as the 1st seeded Pistons. The West will even better next year, with Portland and Seattle. Not to worried about Durrant. I read that he couldn't bench-press 180. Another Chris Bosh. Skinny forwards in the West don't cut it, ask Garnett. Then again, Duncan has 3 years left before he starts to slow down. So Durrant has a chance. This is just my opinion. What do you think POJO?

Last I saw, Bosh was an All-Star, and Toronto had a storybook season. If Garnett had some help it would be different. If Duncan was all alone, he'd be nowhere as well. He's always had help. No one does it alone. Ask Kobe and LeBron.

The basketball weighs maybe 6lbs. How many times can Durant lift that, including from 3.

Check the Spurs record against the East. Not even close. Bosh is a good forward in the East, check his stats/record versus the bigger forwards in West, You'll see what I mean.

Garnett did have help for 3 years and still choked. Especially in 2005.

Take away Duncan, the Spurs are not in the Playoffs, in the East, maybe a 3rd or a 4th seed.

Ha Ha.. That's funny. If he can't push up 180, how in the world is he gonna push out Duncan.

Come on man, admit it. If the Spurs were your team, you would love them. They wouldn't be boring to you. They are a modest and humble team, that plays the right way (as Larry Brown would say) on and off the court. come on guys, lets applaud them for this. Who would you like your kid to grow up to be like, Duncan or Iverson? Show some love for the most "Boring Dynasty in Sports."

Durant wouldn't be guarding Duncan anyway.

Different positions ENTIRELY. Are you high?

You are comparing the two one on one?

Who was the champs last year? The HEAT?

    They in the West?

The Pistons were one Horry 3 pointer away from taking that series back to Detroit and being up, don't give me that shit.

You are changing course here and wasting my time. You were blowing air about the GM at San Antonio and how superior he was to the GM in Phoenix. Colangelo turned the Raptors into a division winner regardless.

What help did Garnett have? Gimme a break, that may have been your WORST point.

Tell me that you know Tim Duncan personally, so you want your kids to grow up with a stellar point guard, shooting guard, HOF coach, and David Robinson for his first few years to play with and learn from?

Keep the arguments you make on topic. Nobody even began to say Durant would be playing Duncan in the post.

You're a homer, we all are.

The Spurs 20-10 against the East?

Big deal, Dallas mopped that. Utah was a game worse at 19-11 I believe. The WHOLE West is better than the East, not just the Spurs.

Hell, Detroit was 17-13 against the West, thats only three games better.

    Iverson?

    I never mentioned Iverson.

Ratings are down 24%, its boring to the WHOLE country.

Never said that. I't was just an example. That's all. My God....

I loved that you brought up my main man, David Robinson. You are right my friend, he learned from the best. As of 2007, he has given more of his OWN money to charity than any pro athlete in history. 12 million and counting. Throw in 3 more million from his "David Robinson Foundation." Now that's a role model. Not just for sports, but for humanity.

Not that much contact, and it didn't affect the shot I didn't think. Way less than the no call against the Pistons, and just like then, in the last ticks of the clock, its going to have to be a lot more contact than that to get a call.

It was a close call. Give credit to Lebron for trying to hit the shot.

That was a foul. But the refs let both teams play really physical, 31 combined free throws. In game 4 against the Suns, the Suns shot 41 free throws. Lebron missed quite a few point blank shots in the 2nd half, so I think he misses a free throw. Lebron seems like a really cool guy, I hope the best for him. Be cool guys......

Heard on PTI this afternoon that after looking at the call, officials believe the call was correct, it was not continuation and was not on the shot.

I think the officials were trying to do the Cavs a favor by not calling a foul (which would be two foul shots).

Having said that, I have seen some ridiculous continuation calls this year.

Looking at the general way those are called, this one certainly qualifies and so 3 shots should have been given.

If you think this isn't the way it is called in the NBA all year, you are blind.

Yeah, I mean, only been watching NBA games since the '70s so ... I may have seen a few calls in my time.

I've seen many changes in official styles of calls and rule changes over the years, I watched games before the 3 existed, and college before when the dunk was outlawed.

The point is at that juncture of the game, it isn't going to be called.

The commissioner himself called the games "unwatchable", and it was VERY MUCH wanted for LeBron to be in the Finals for TV purposes.

Tell me how often, end of the game or not, that two hands on a player while pushing him is not a foul?

I hear you and even agree with you to a point.

I contend that it is officiating that made these playoffs the debacle that it was.

How can the league justify knees to the groin and other blatant suspendable offenses by the Spurs?

Not to mention the trading off of fouls to superstars Lebron and Duncan in game 3 so each has to sit out early in the 2nd half? Just great for ratings with the stars sitting for touch fouls.

Ticky-tack fouls there, and yet a knee to the groin is ok?

The league and it's old boys club of officiating is looking very amateur, even though the the Spurs are a good team.

Oh man, LeBron got a lot of calls during the Piston series he shouldn't have gotten.

I gaurantee you they wanted LeBron in.

I am not stupid enough to believe that so much so it altered officiating, but in desperate times, the Pistons brought a lot on themselves with their bitching and whining, and I know that ofter turns officals against them.

You don't think Rasheed has a mark on him? He put it there over the years, but he is certainly not going to ever get the benefit of a call that could go either way.

LeBron will. Officials suck, I agree. To the point where I hate the NBA anymore, and with the rules changes and bullshit in hockey, I am about ready to leave that behind as well.

At that point in the game, it is going to have to be much more of a foul than that to get called. Officials will not decide games in that fashion. His jersey was hardly touched. And the fact whether it was continuation or not is still very debatable.

With the ratings an all-time worst, and 27% worse than last seasons, how much worse would they have been if Detroit had won?

Every newspaper, sports radio show, and sports broadcaster, and Stern, were practically in unison, agreeing that THE BEST SCENARIO POSSIBLE was the Cavs getting in.

Everyone in the world, including the refs, would have thought so. I don't know how that cannot have a psychological effect. How long has the league been waiting to annoint the next "chosen one".

How does the league screwing the Suns have any bearing on how the Cavs were officiated?

I think that a Suns-Cavs series would have been 100 times better, so I don't see how they would have even wanted the Spurs in, and in lieu of whats been printed about the Spurs since the win, I believe it even more.

The Spurs are hideous boring, but they win. They said the same of the Pistons when they won in 2004. To think this past Finals was less watched than the Spurs-Pistons sends a big message.

Mike Bibby isn't worth 14 or 15 million a year...

and they can't do Gooden straight up, because he's only making 6 mill a year...and don't really have anything else to add to it that Ball Sac would take...

They would have to take scumbags like DMarsh and Damon Jones...

and nobody in the league will ever do it...

    This just in.

The Browns trade Charlie Frye to Seattle for an undiclosed draft pick.

Derek Anderson will start. Ken Dorsey is the back-up.

And Brady the Lady is #3 ... for now.

I still think that after this initial first month with their toughest match-ups, brady will be groomed during the bye week to assume control.

Rumor has it....Derek Anderson will get sent to the Giants and that Byron Leftwich will be picked up in free agency...Ken Dorsey was cut but I think he's coming back.

Dorsey is back, they resigned him.

I don't see the Giants making a deal. They might but they have the Hefty Lefty who has been there for what 2-3 seasons now, knows the system. I can't see them bringing in someone fresh.

    tough loss last night.

I'd have put Franklin in for Trot as soon as Rocket got pulled.

Westbrook needed to give us 6 to get to the pen, came up two innings short.

I feel as though CC should start tonight. While I felt Grover panicked back in 99 when he threw Colon on 3 days rest, this year is different due to the off day. Going with Colon on short rest also forced him to use Finley on short rest in Game 5; that seemed unwise when ahead in the series. This year, though, with Carmona available for Game 5 on full rest, this decision should be just about Game 4.
