Steely Dan announce massive U.S. tour

Literally, two weeks after after 4 days of collecting dust and mud to see the 'Van" at the Rock USA festival, me and the better half get to shower, fuck, and get gussied up for the 'Dan' at Highland Park.

The 'Van & the Dan' summer this is going to be.

Steely Dan announce a massive U.S. tour.

shows and dates are listed at the official site.

And not a single MN date (not that I'd drop $65 to see the Dan anyway. With this economy ya got to pick and choose your concerts...)
My karma just ran over your dogma.

I agree with ya'...I have no idea why they snubbed Minnesota...if this is a "massive" tour, you would think that hitting ALL of the U.S. would be a priority.

I love this band (Fagan & Becker), and I love that they are coming this way.

How often do you get to see Van Halen & Steely Dan in the same summer?

      I expect the usual greatness!

Funny, I hated Steely Dan as a kid (before I started playing), love them now. Couple of the more mainstream radio hits ("Hey Nineteen" comes to mind, sorry!) I could do without, but things like "Black Friday" and "FM" kick ass...

Brilliant band . When it comes to Steely dan , either you get it or you don't . They define the ol' description of " Cool , mellow , laid back "
I saw them in 2006 . They played literally every song of theirs that I was familiar with and then some . Top notch musicianship with a too cool jazz-rock attitude . My two favorite moments in the show was when one of the female backup vocalists sang the lead on " Dirty Work " . Just devastating . That was followed by " Do It Again " Outstanding . You wont be dissapointed .

I always loved Steely Dan. Drink scotch whiskey all night long! The Cuervo Gold, the fine columbian let's make tonight a wonderful thing...

Kinda a shame they aren't coming to Nashville. I recently got my 13 yr old son into Steely Dan. He heard me playing "Peg" and loved it. Then, he asked me "who are these guys". I told him and played a few other tunes. His favorite turned out to be "Kid Charlemagne". He is really into the fact that they were using intelligent lyrics. We had a 20 minute discussion about the meaning of "Kid Charlemagne" lyrics. Also played him some of Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly". (His fav there was I.G.Y. for the same reason, lyrics)

Anyway, he's never gotten into my hard rockin' way, but I can handle his Steely Dan fandom.

I like Steely Dan, but I like listening to them when I'm sitting back, having a dozen beers and just relaxing on the deck....Not sure I need to pay for tickets and then $9 for a beer to do that, frankly....

Yeah, I'd pay about 20 bucks to see them...

                            Maybe 30, that's about it...

I'm pretty sure I've seen their name around the Biloxi casinos...
