um...you realize that the average American pays less in taxes under obama than under bush, right? and stomping the constitution...parts of the patriot act have been ruled unconstitional. insurance has been rising faster than incomes for around a decade. deportations under obama exceeded anything under bush. so, uh, who's destroying the country?

Nobody's trying to take any guns away from anybody legally qualified to own them, and everything else on your list has been done by right wingers (which includes Clinton and Obama)

Bottom line is that some people simply should not own guns at all. Generally speaking, that would be criminals, psychopaths, and kids. You may have learned how to shoot guns when you were 12, but legally you should not have been able to own one.

Look at it like you would a car. We license both cars and drivers. It doesn't eliminate car accidents or DWI's, but you can be damn sure it reduces them. And if a car flees the scene of a crime, it can help find the guilty party.

I have agreed to this more than once, here on this site. And I said I was FOR background checks AND mandatory gun safety/proper use classes. At the purchaser's expense. But, just like Washington, nobody listened. It's always the same argument - take all the guns except muzzle loading .50 cals and blunderblusses and single shot pistols OR register everything you have now so the gubment can decide there's some national tragedy that requires them to take all the guns. That's the problem.

Look - give me one normal pump shotgun and one repeating rifle and I'm good. I can defend my home against these make-believe-home-invaders. Because I live in the only state that has them, right? But who is anyone to say that I shouldn't have a single shot black rifle?
