I don't think so...
But I'm sure there's probably some flashing light metronome app for iphone...
Not one that will let you sync a drum machine to in the session file later though, right? Dude, if you need a visual - and again, not familiar with GarageBand set up, only Pro Tools, but if I were you and wanted something to that effect, I'd just add a click track to the session and view the track level in the mixing window while recording. Bam - lighted metronome.
If you can do that in GarageBand... you're welcome.
Yeah, but I don't want to hear it...
I got it figured out kinda and the iphone strobe light works good...
Use a metronome. Just turn its level down.
This whole macho shit of players shunning metronomes is a cuntplete joke.
There's nothing worse than a drummer that doesn't know how to properly play along to a click. By that I'm mean that because they're playing to click they become a robotic in their playing.(no feel). Same goes for guitarists. You need to "learn" to play with a click, not to a click. Play in and around the time markings. Play behind, on the beat, or play ahead and push the beat.
This comes through plenty of time spent writing with one. Simply play like you normally do and just let it be a simple guide, not the master. Embrace it, or go back to the old Fostex 4 track...
(Just my 2 cents).
Trolls take heed...LOG OUT & FUCK OFF!!!
I do record as if I'm recording on tape...
Purposely...
And that's not a bad thing; just do it to a click.
So was I...or I still am, but I'm getting more comfortable...
I have an old Tascam 688 8 track and I still fool with reel tape...
Garageband is probably a good place to start with digital...
I also have an older ProTools setup that I may start messing around with again...
I thought it was great. Good riff. Hell that was a song, not an idea ! Just make it longer. Than come up with 9 more and send me a copy ! And don't put lyrics on them. I think some of it reminded me of Danny Gatton.
I have about five more of what I would call "good ideas" so far...
No problem. I was half asleep and it made my ears perk up. With all the B.S. Ed has told us in interviews over the years, the one thing he said that always stuck with me was, if it sounds good it is good. That was good for my ears.
Post some more stuff when you record it. Would love to hear it.
I'm gonna post my progress...
Been busy busy busy...
Ok... is this turd worthy of a fuckin sticky? Seriously!?
