Well he and Elvis started out pretty much the same time at Sun Records, and were playing similar types of music in those days. But then there was a virtual "fork" in the road and Presley took one path and Johnny took the other.

Pretty much illustrates the uselessness of all these little "boxes" we try to put music in though....

Rock. Country. Metal. Grunge. Hip-hop. Whatever....

I prefer only two categories for music. Stuff that's good, and stuff that sucks.

And I don't buy the stuff that sucks. But there's good country. Good hip-hop. I imagine there's even good disco and good showtunes out there, but I'll let somebody else investigate that.

Why? My parents instilled a love of music in us at a young age, and they didn't tell us what music we could and couldn't listen to. Although they would make us put on the headphones if it was something they weren't fond of.
