The octave is the reference pitch, not the fretted note with string pressure applied...

Wrong. To repeat, all 3 notes have to match, or the guitar isn't properly intonated.

But dude, I just now purposely adjusted the intonation way off on my bottom three strings and set them back (better than before actually) in a snap...

He is so serious about claiming to be able to do this he actually does it just to prove to himself that he can?

And, not enough brain power to actually know that he is capable....he has to throw his pawnshop special out of intonation just to prove to himself that he still knows how to do it because he is incapable of actually "remembering" whether or not he can do it.
