    Quality Of Timex Watches

Who here owns a Timex? I was looking as one for a gift but Krist they seem a bit overpriced for the features (which are none, really). But other than that how good are they? I mean, do they keep time well without losing and you constantly have to readjust, battery wear and all that shit.

I have had a Timex for 20 years that my Dad gave me. I only had to change the battery once. Still works like it is supposed to.

My old Timex digital still works.... forget how old it is exactly, but probably from sometime in the early 1990s.

I don't use the thing, because the velcro wristbands give me a rash, and the metal wristbrands get all caught up in my hairy arms, and since cell phones have clocks, who fucking needs a watch anymore?

But if, for some reason, I did need it it's kinda cool to know it's still dependable. The old commercials in the 70s were ridiculously exaggerated, but not entirely inaccurate.

Considering all they need is a battery, and there are no moving parts.....I would say it is easier now for them to last forever than it used to be back in the day.

I had one watch from the mid-80s until about 2005. So got 20 years out of that one as well.

Fortunately I am not allergic to leather. That is what the wristband is made of.

And good point, Ford, about not needing a watch these days.

At the very least, just be sure the clock in your car is reasonably accurate, and you should get to wherever you want to go on time.
