Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!
you did it
It was done to me.
Are you two ladies still fighting over this? Geez, back in the old days there would have been at least two meltdowns and one goodbye thread over this argument by now lol
I don't hate Dave. I just think the guy's stupid site reflects he total inability to grasp the importance of the interwebz. Sure, he's got his twatter feed and somebody is updating it. But his site sucks and since he made his triumphant return it hasn't gotten any better. Here's all he has to do:
Pictures
Video
New Roth Show - can't believe I'm asking for that. Might as well fireboard me
Archive of old stuff
Lastly - a new Roth Radio
None of that would require much effort on his end.
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
Well, PB won't stop hitting me with his purse.
Tell him to stop, Donnie.
And his complete lack of knowledge on how to market himself after 1985. It's been one bumbling mistake after another. "Hey, let's feature my ass prominently in every video."
He'd have to care for his fans, though.
In the book on page 270, Ted Templeman, upon listening to two new tunes that the band had written since he'd last seen them, said of "Atomic Punk" and "Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love", "I really did my homework, and what I learned was that those were Dave's lyrics, and he was a great lyricist. And I knew he was smart. And that's hard to come by, somebody who's really, really bright like that."

Indeed, 37 years on and the questions about Roth, though rhetorical, still remain. I.e., Does he really rule the streets at night like no other? Where did he hear the news about her disease... and did he drive her down to the clinic in his crappy Subaru himself... or did he tell her to take the bus?
Yes Sir, as a "lyricist" the poetic genius in Roth is simply undeniable.
Come on,Ted, give us a break.
Yet another tidbit I'm still wrestling with in the book is the reported request from Black Sabbath that DLR perform as a stand-in at the show for MIA Ozzy. That would have been quite the event it seems to me.
Beavrtek - proud "full on cocktard"! Thanks Administrator, cool cheapshot!
"Uh, guys. I don't know the songs!"
"DAMMIT!!!"
I brought my pencil!!!
You know Dave is quite the artist. Paul Stanley has managed to sell himself as an artist and done well. I think Dave's art is more interesting than Paul's. My frustration with Dave is his lack of being able to market himself. As a live performer his voice is shot and he never had much of a voice to begin with and his stage act is for a young guy. An old guy looks goofy up there. I wish Dave was more like Gene Simmons and was out to create everything and sell it to you. I just see a lot of talent locked up in a house doing nothing. I don't know. Maybe Dave's hyperactivity scrambles him to where he just can't focus.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!
Greg has announced his follow-up book....
It's an authorized biography on Ted Templeman....
Greg stresses that it although Ted has worked with dozens of artists, it will be heavy on his VH time.....

Does anyone want to read Doobie Brothers stories?
Writing In All Proper Case Takes Extra Time, Is Confusing To Read, And Is Completely Pointless.
"If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”
Got damn! I know I’m late to the party, but I love this book. Just read it about 2 months ago. It took me about a month because I was googling addresses in the book and listening to the videos on YouTube from the shows in the book. Who else did that? Lol Feels like I know more about my all-time favorite band. I seen every headlining tour starting in 1979. After reading how young they was doing “Krell” it’s no wonder Ed and Al would jam hours upon hours everyday, and with cigarettes in their mouths in every picture. Lol One of the things I found interesting is Dave using a straw to suck out the air of Al’s toms for an effect. Next time I get by a drum set I’m doing that to see what the hell that’s all about. And then blowing away a MS lead UFO. I didn’t know that.
That’s the first VH book I’ve read. I want to read Monk’s book. Can anyone tell me if it’s worth the read? I would appreciate it.
Definitely read the Monk book or do what I did and get the audio version.
It's as good as Gregg's and covers a later period after they were signed. I think Monk's book will form the definitive history of the band, he had a lot of notes from the time and was taking a lot less booze and drugs than the other principle parties...
