Data was the failed attempt at a Spock counterpart. A high-functioning intellectual albino wastetoid who allegedly has no emotion but could play Brahms at the drop of a hat. His character sucked donkey ass on a New York subway, too in that it could have been more interesting but instead insulted that Asimov visionary interaction between robots and humans if robots ever acquired sentient consciousness. The producers kept him in a subservient role for "humans." Therefore. always wanted to see this character as being "died off."

It's just occurred to me - do you think they auditioned any black actors for that role...?

I liked the ones with q in. Thought it was good when he joined the breaking bad cast ... I remember saying he was a good addition to the cast hopefully he would be in it long term . Yeah didnt see that coming lol

I still haven't gotten around to seeing Breaking Bad yet, but John DeLancie is a brilliant character actor in any case. He got his start on Days of Our Lives, of all things, where he played a crazy inventor/mad scientist/time traveller sort of character....

No. In fact, now that I think of it, there were few blacks on that show and the ones that were seemed to be portrayed in menial/labor roles. Even the original series has black doctor for a short period of time and his character was far more interesting than any Next Suckeration one



Even the actor who played Worf was black but I never thought of him that way (maybe to make them appear to be less threatening?). Odd that. Data was the monochromatic character a neutral life form that wasn't really a life form at all. Like I said, there was no memorable character(s) on that show due to the fact the writers and producers purposefully had 0 interest into making them that way.

More reasons why I cannot stand Picard


1. Morbid Pseudo-Intellectualism Picard was a self-serving prick. His whole "make it so" was really, "I have no fucking idea what in the fuck is going on." Arrogant, spiteful and condescending to alien lifeforms, and in transient crisis sat with his thumb up his ass.

2. Wasn't Interested At All In Pussy, Poker or Sport Now I'm not calling him gay or even effeminate but ask yourself this: if you had the chance to nail a twiglet-limbed green alien in a shifting coalition of species from all over the galaxy would you? Not even a cat-herding slippery woman dipped in sex lubricant from Rigal Four ever interested Picard. He did have a thing for Whoopi Goldberg or maybe black Jewish women in general but never followed though on it. Even that ginger-haired doctor who could barely literate her lines could not make his trousers tighten. You'd think even if he did have a "problem" the space Viagra would be so kick ass Picard would be humping on the holodeck like a rabid monkey.

3. Was Technologically Inept It's the pig-friggin' 24th Century! So Picard would say something so fucking retarded to that Fram air filter visor wearing token "How are the plasma conduits doing?" and had no idea what a plasma conduit was. Now I don't know either but I don't care. I'm high. It's Picard's job to know but he doesn't know. Picard was the Morrissey of the Enterprise and Riker his Lou Reed to Nico. You dig? If Picard wanted to be a captain of anything it as his own artistic orgasm of reciting Shakespeare while practicing chop-sokey-suey martial arts in Central Park. He killed all that was pure with Star Trek and if you like Picard you are a low species yourself.
