Gravity - In Space...No One Can Read This Review....

So I went to see Gravity a couple of weeks ago in 3D.

I cannot reiterate this enough: If you have a fear of heights, if you get sick to your tummy when watching fast motion freek out stuff, if the thought of being by yourself in orbit around the earth....BY YOURSELF...no space station no space shuttle.....

...then this is not the movie for you.

It freaked me the fuck out. Astonishingly beautiful vista of Earth....especially with the 3-D thang....it is as if you are up there.

So I was on pins and needles the entire movie.

Worth seeing once. Especially those idiots who think the Earth is flat should see it. A bunch of times.

And for the first time since 3D films became the rage within the past few years....I ducked. Piece of space debris headed right towards me at 18,000 mph? SHEEEEEIT.

I wonder how many peeps are going to see this and become unhinged.....having the great epiphany about how out beyond the atmosphere there is fucking NOTHING!!!!!!

So fast forward to today. Just for the fuck of it I decide to watch the trailer again. Had another epiphany. If you could isolate Sandra Bullock's voice in a lot of the crazier segments of the trailer, you could dub it onto a porno flick......I mean hey, she is freaking out in sheer terror over her predicament. But I had the realization that this is what she sounds like when she comes REALLY REALLY hard!

Hearing the guy's voice on the radio is distracting somewhat, but listen to her go! :-D

I am serious man...if you have any kind of motion sickness thang, this will get ya.

But.....it is so well done. They could not have done any better in the CGI department. Looks too real. I mean, as real as real can be real!

I completely enjoyed it, my first 3D movie - the pen tumbling towards me was the first really WEIRD experience.......however, I do not think the plot was the greatest I've ever seen. I found myself getting bored in spots.....but Bullock really pulled this off all by herself. Worthy of watching just for her performance and the effects.

        Oh dear.

Stripped down plot to be sure, but then there is not much complication in a situation like that, lol.

I had a nightmare a couple of years ago where I was in that situation. Spacewalking, got cut loose from my tether....just floating away in space while watching the Earth below....woke up in a sweat.....no fun. Then they go and make a fucking movie of it. I oughta sue the bastids.

I've been at movies with the kids where I've taken off the glasses, most 3D is shit. It's a crappy gimmick and it's usually uncomfortable and too dark.

I hear though this one is good. I'm trying to think of other decent 3D stuff, 'How to train your dragon?' was fine. I saw the first 30 mins of Avatar or Smurfahontis on 2D TV and lost interest.

So far I have yet to see a 2D film that was converted that looks that great. Even the Phantom Menace fucking was not that great. JarJar Binks must die.

But you get the occasional director like the guy who directed this, who knows how to use 3D.
Also notice in the trailer the audio use of the stereo field as Sandra is going around the Cosmic Merry Go-Round....Jimi Hendrix was doing that in 1968!

Thought it was a good movie. Visually, excellent.

But SB bugged the shit out of me. Can't stand her.

                        The ending was cool, though.

Still not a Sandra Bullock fan, but agree the visuals are excellent, albeit vertigo-inducing.

May have to check it out... Even if it's a Bullock-flick.
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

                              Watch Gravity for free here.

It's not the greatest quality but it's watchable.

(The first few minutes are bad whoever filmed it... it's fine after that)
