I like the fact that it doesn't sound like 1987.

It could have been trimmed a little, but good stuff.

    "Red Dragon Cartel" track listing:

    01. Deceived
    02. Shout It Out
    03. Feeder (with Robin Zander)
    04. Fall From The Sky (Seagull)
    05. Wasted (with Paul Di'Anno)
    06. Slave
    07. Big Mouth (with Maria Brink)
    08. War Machine
    09. Redeem Me (with Sass Jordan)
    10. Exquisite Tenderness

Does that mean it's mainly instrumentals?

No, there is a core band featuring a singer.

Can't say I'm looking forward to the Di'Anno track.............

I'm not expecting the song writing to be in the same league at all as the Slash solo albums...

He would have been the obvious choice for the track called 'Big Mouth'...

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm there?

The first Slash solo record (with a different singer on every track) was, for the most part, very good. The second one, 'Apocalyptic Love', felt a little middle-aged to me: like a guy mailing in blues rock. I enjoyed it, but it didn't sizzle.

The second Slash's Snakepite album - 'Ain't Life Grand' - was fucking phenomenal. It is a crime that it's not better known or more highly regarded.

No I liked the first Slash album too.

I haven't listened to the second one properly yet, mainly because I read your review...

    It's...okay, I suppose.

The lyrics are kinda inane. Seems like a case of trying way too hard to be hip/subversive but coming up way short. The drums and bass are kinda mundane. The production is too cold and clinical, but that's not really uncommon these days for music in general. The guitars were nothing astounding.

Honestly, the only thing really distinctive about it is the fact that Jake E Lee is playing on it. Had I not known that, and had heard the track as some kind of 'blind taste test' listening sample, hearing this wouldn't exactly make me wanna know who the band was or hear anything else they did.

Liked Lee with Badlands and the first album he did with Ozzy. This, not so much.

I'm a big Jake fan and a bigger Zander fan, but nothing about this song grabbed me. It just seems clumsy. I figured the solo would at least not be a let down but it kind of was. Hopefully, there's better stuff than that on the CD.

Wow really setting the bar for music video in the modern era. I grew up listening to these guys -- these 70's-80's guys in general. Their music just doesn't hit me like it used to. It's forgettable.

This track is just ok for me...

I've always liked Zanders voice and he sounds good here...

But doesn't feeder sound exactly like an Ozzy track ??

And the bass and drums sound as if they were taken straight out of a sample catalog...

    The solo sucks...

The lyrics are not something I'd expect to hear coming from Robin Zander. Not that everything he does has to be all "Surrender" like, but still, he's not a go to guy for the doom and gloom vibe.

Yeah, but that's suicide with a wink and a smile.

Come to think of it, they've got a hand full of songs on that topic.
