    In the name of Lovie
Lovie Smith was hired as the Bears' new head coach Jan. 14. Smith, the Rams' defensive coordinator, will get a four-year deal, ESPN.com's John Clayton reported. Smith and Steelers offensive line coach Russ Grimm were the two finalists for the job. Smith replaces Dick Jauron, who was fired Dec. 29 after four losing seasons in five years. Smith began his coaching career in 1980 at his high school in Big Sandy, Texas. He was a defensive position coach at the college level from 1983-96, when Tony Dungy hired him to be linebackers coach on his first staff in Tampa Bay. Smith stayed in Tampa until 2001, when Mike Martz hired him as Rams defensive coordinator.

Good that Grimm didn't get picked, he's a good coach....

Just got racked with a shitload of injuries on that line this year....

I think this may turn out to be a good match.
Will have to wait and see.

St. Louis didn't have a great defense this year, did they? They have two great players in Leonard Little and Aeneas Williams, but overall their defense didn't wow me this year. So the Bears needed an offensive coach, and got a defensive one that's I don't see as anything special. I never even heard of him before this year.
