    Hammer Jammer

Below, check out a recently posted demo video of a new $30 product called the Hammer Jammer.

Six-string players can install the device on their electric or acoustic guitars (We've even included the company's official "installation and tweaking" video below) to produce a different-sounding, percussive attack — something, perhaps, in the ballpark of a hammer dulcimer on speed.

The only line of promotional material we have from the company is this: "The Hammer Jammer provides incredibly fast hammering techniques, unique sounds and unusual patterns for six-string guitars."

Not so new, there was an acoustic-only version back in the early 90's.

kind of interesting, but I won't be rushing out to get one anytime soon. Seem like this would be good for players who are already good with finger-picking.

At least it's cheap and looks easy to install.

I was wondering about whether you could put the hammers over a harmonic sweet spot like the 12th fret and do a beyond Mean Street type thing.

    Gimmicky but still...

Interesting. At 30 bucks, I'd buy one.

Interesting product but I too wonder where those unusual patterns were...it seems the patterns are what the player can do with it.

I have a big version of it. It's called a piano.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

I thought you were going to tell us you invented the Hammer Jammer when you worked at NASA.
