Right-Wing Zealots Are Already Freaking Out About The Return Of Cosmos!

Posted by: John Prager in Education, Image Gallery, Religion, Videos March 10, 2014

The reboot of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos is here and, as Ned Twyman predicted, the anti-science crowd is furious. Unfortunately, even though it aired on FOX, Cosmos presented viewers with a scientific view of the universe and, to some, that means the end of the world.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson, host of the show, continued in the tradition of walking us through the universe and presenting anti-Creation, anti-God propaganda. Can you believe he said that we are made of “star stuff” rather than invisible strands of Jesus’ love?

In all of our world’s 6,000 years there has not been a more ridiculous idea than that the world was not created in six days. All this reboot of the show accomplishes is to push the liberal, atheist viewpoint through anti-Christian propaganda!

After all, it was endorsed by Barack “Benghazi” Obama…right?

Just take a look at what these geniuses have to say about it:

It's laughable. And unfortunately it makes all people of faith look like backwards morons. I honestly know someone who believes that dinosaurs are make believe. No shit. I could take her to the local museum and show her the bones and she still wouldn't believe it. Go figure.

When I first heard about this remake being made, I was skeptical. Neil DeGrasse Tyson seemed like a good choice for the host, but Seth MacFarlane's involvement made me think "what the fuck??". I half expected Brian & Stewie to debate science with Stan Smith from American Dad.

But they actually pulled it off. And pissed off the ignorant inbreds in the process. I think Carl Sagan would approve, on both counts.

Part of the proof is the sea shells located in rocks on mountains...cause that is what happened during Noah's Ark time.

I explained the Tetonic Plates and how the shells got to be so high....she looked at me at joyfully and explained I was wrong...no idea about or interest in Tetonic Plates.

I mentioned no proof that humankind has ever been wiped out or a mass near extinction of wildlife except for those on the Ark...once again....nope...there is proof...in scripture.

My wife ended our discussion...for the better good.

The original programme and book were very good , always had a lot of time for Carl Sagan way a head of his time in some respects . Particularly on environmental issues weirdly enough .

I heard this was back on, and frankly I wasn't that interested to be quite honest. Maybe I'm a shallow and unintelligent cunt. In fact, I am perhaps. But now that I hear so many religious good folk are so up-in-arms over it all, I'm going to be an avid watcher!

These anti science people need to do their communicating with yelling and smoke signals because without science and understanding the different elements and their properties, there's no fucking internet for them to bleat on.

Please look to the scriptures and tell me how heavy elements are formed. Because it's my understanding that the only place hot enough is the middle of a fucking supernova. Please oh wise prophets... tell me how silicon, sulfur, chlorine, argon, sodium, potassium, calcium, scandium, titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, and nickel are formed. It's all stardust.

Try having computers and microphones and speakers and fiber optic cables without them, you loud mouthed willfully-ignorant motherfuckers.

I've still got my original hardcover 'cosmos' book. Can't wait for the new one. It seemed that back then, the religious types were more open to science and jeebus co existing.

Without a doubt. The scare tactics screaming you can't have it both ways have been terrifyingly effective. Unfortunately, it would seem, just enough people are stupid.

I certainly was. Though I did lean in the "creationist" direction as a teenager, I certainly didn't dismiss science in general. There were some kids at my church who made some dumb comments about that "satanic" Carl Sagan. I asked them if they had ever actually watched the show, and of course, they had not. Somebody told them it was "evil" and they didn't question it. But even then, at the height of Reaganism, that attitude was probably in the minority.

You are probably more religious than I am. You post as Jesus and Satan, but you might as well post as Zeus, Thor, or even Set. They are all mythical figures.

And I'm not really religious at all.... Hell I didn't even go to church on Christmas Eve this time around. Though I did watch Pope Frankie's Midnight Mass on TV. Which is ironic, since I've never been Catholic..... but it seemed like a reasonable idea at the time.

If I'm ever in Tucson for the Holidays again, I'll probably do Midnight Mass in person at the San Xavier mission.... again, not so much out of religious reasons, but just because the place is so damn cool....

Yeah, it's just as cool on the inside. One of the oldest buildings on this continent as well, built in the 1780s. Though I guess I would have to give Spain the credit on that one, since they were probably in charge of the area when it was built.

You should visit Quebec. Tons of buildings built in the 1600's.

It's such an insanely ridiculous story it's almost too big a target to shoot holes in.

A couple of quickies would be to ask her how many plants and trees were left alive after being under water for 40 days and the bugs thing. There are over 400 000 species of beetle alone.

The call centre I work at takes calls for "Beyond Today Television". They were offering literature on creationism. Unbelievable the # of people calling to get it to give to their grandchildren because they were being "taught lies at school". My tongue was almost swollen by the end of my shift I had to bite it so much!

    Not yet.

According to Gallup I was actually underestimating the number of creationists in the US even assuming that the kind of people who fall for that nonsense are the same kind of people that stop to talk to pollsters...

    Geezus....

Two weeks ago, there was a poll saying 80% of Demoncrats supported Hillary Clinton.

Last week there was a poll claiming that 67% of Americans were in favor of the Keystone XL death pipeline.

    Now this shit.

Who the FUCK are they polling to get these goddamned ridiculous results, on goddamned nearly every question??

I fear for the future of you mortals in the US, I really do......

Well, you have to narrow it down a bit. They obviously believe in a creator, they just don't follow the 6,000 year timeline that Bishop Ussher created.
