Oh dear.
Nice poster. I've seen it a couple times before around here. Very cool indeed. VH the way it should be always.
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”
$3 for Van Halen!!??
You coulda seen them 50 times back then for what it costs to see them once now. I wonder what ever became of those other bands on the bill.
The nice thing is it was posted by a non-VH friend on FB. Makes it even cooler.
Thanks for the post, Shoes. Great stuff!
I remember when everyone did those hand drawn maps on their flyers......long before the days of Google Maps and color copying!
I'm Stayin' Frosty!
Back when people cared about saving 50 cents. I wonder how much a gallon of gasoline cost then?
Hard to believe Eulogy never name it big with such a killer name.
"Nothing gets a yak over a suspension bridge faster than 'Back in the Saddle Again' by Aerosmith" ~ DLR
Google says... In 1975, the US national average price of a gallon of regular gasoline was 57 cents. That is equal to about $2.31 per gallon in 2010 dollars.

Copies of these VH flyers show up from time to time on ebay. It would be neat to have in a frame in the Van Halen shrine room. What would be really cool would be to have some of the gold records but damn those things are expensive.
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
Great stuff !
I remember the early 80's (maybe mid) where gas at AM-PM was .86 cents per gallon. I didnt drive yet, but we would pitch in for 1 guys pickup and all go to the beach. Everyone would toss in a couple quarters or maybe $1 and he would put the $4-$6 in his tank. That was all it took for a whole day of riding around & doing stuff. Back when it was still legal for 7 of us to sit in the bed of the truck going down the freeway.
I miss those days. Glad my mind is still in a condition to remember them well.
They sure played with Stormer a lot. Wonder what ever came of those guys. They need to be contacted and thoroughly interviewed.
And Yankee Rose, how about that? That name sure stuck in Dave's head.
These are pretty cool
fuck your fucking framing
Love these old flyers.....and I sure remember KMET FM! (Whoo ya!)

Awesome thread...
Raw Power magazine from the late 70's.
Click the magazine cover's for the PDF files.
The issue with Iggy Pop on the cover has a short interview with DLR from 1977, and a couple old live club days pictures.

Loved his answer to "have you been in other bands before this one?"
A little voice inside his head must have whispered "let the non sequiturs begin!"
"Gonna ride the wave right up to the street". Classic!

I used to have this flyer. Bought it for a couple of bucks at a flea market in San Francisco back in '92. Some deadhead running off copies of flyers from famous bands and selling them for pot money. I include this flyer with the rest of my cherished CVH memorabilia that vanished into the ether somewhere along the way...
My karma just ran over your dogma.
Thanks BF for the link !!!
I love Dave's words "Van Halen is here, and you're just gonna have to start saving-up your allowance for the record"
Just what I did, back in 1978, (times of the "Dirty War" here), to pay a lot of money for importing that record from USA, I skipped meals, walked a lot saving on bus tickets, and suffered a dangerous incident with the police that I'm glad I can laugh now.
I had to save the money again in 1979, 1980....hahaha, nice and expensive memories
Nice thread. Back in the day when these guys were also doing the cover tunes and did a great version of "Hell Raisers and Beer Drinkers"...
"Meet us in the Future.....NOT the Pasture".......DLR, August '07, VH Press Conference - Tour '07-'08
