Jeb Bush Says He Will Decide On 2016 By The End Of The Year

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) on Sunday said that he'll make a decision whether to run for president in 2016 by the end of this year, according to the Washington Post.

Bush said he would base his decision on whether a candidate can "run with a hopeful, optimistic message, hopefully with enough detail to give people a sense that it’s not just idle words and not get back into the vortex of the mud fight."

Bush spoke at an event celebrating 25 years since the presidency of his father, George H.W. Bush. Parts of the interview were later broadcast on Fox News.

He also said he needed to consider how a bid for the White House would impact his family.

"I just don’t want to go through that until the right time," he said. "And it turns out that not running has generated more interest than if I said I was running. It’s kind of weird. I’m not that smart, I promise you, it just kind of happened that way."

Bush also weighed in on issues like immigration. He said that the U.S. needs to address its immigration system, and that undocumented immigrants haven't necessarily committed a felony, but an "act of love."

He also said he needed to consider how a bid for the White House would impact his family.

I was gonna say there is no way this country will elect ANOTHER Bush....

But then I remembered I said Bush wouldn't win in 2004, either....

I do think that the demographics are different this time around, though..... Combined with the fact that the right has done nothing to steal any votes from the Dems by anyone of color.....

Which is why I don't think it matters who the right nominates to run.....

That's not entirely true. The Repukes are doing a lot of things to steal votes from people of color. Not by persuading them to vote Republican, of course. But rather by making sure they can't vote for ANYBODY.

I don't think the Republicans could actually WIN a national election in this country ever again. But then, they haven't honestly won the White House since 1956 anyway. Nixon & Reagan resorted to treason to manipulate their way to a win, and Chimp stole both of his terms - the first one with Jeb's obvious assistance. That alone should prevent him from ever being considered for ANY public office again. Add the now unlimited corporate money spewing pure lies repeatedly over the airwaves, and the voter rights infringements, and it's not about how many legitimate votes a Republican can get, but more so how many legitimate Democratic votes they can eliminate by one means or another.

As his daddy occupied it for 12 (8 of which with his hand up Reagan's ass). As their puppet Nixon was going to do for 8 years, but their "go to clean up guy" Jerry Ford* had to pinch hit the last two & 1/2. And as Ike did for his 8 years..... he wasn't on board with the BCE agenda, but they still put him in office, and made Tricky Dick his VP.

So I think it's about 60 years too late to believe they're "an interesting work of fiction" as old JellyBean Brain would have put it.
