First three are easy for me...
VH
Stones
Prince
picking the last two is the hard part.
Writing In All Proper Case Takes Extra Time, Is Confusing To Read, And Is Completely Pointless.
Hate these all am gonna do is argue with myself all day

Metallica
Van Halen 1978-84
Pantera
Mastodon

As me tomorrow, and I'd replace Zeppelin with Sabbath. Ask me the day after, and I'd replace both with Deep Purple. Ask me the day after that, and I'd punch you in the head for making me make all of these decisions
The Power Of The Riff Compels Me
The hardest thing about answering this question is that I'm so fucking sick of listening to my favorite bands! Gotta put'em all on the shelf every now and then.
Van Halen
Beatles
Led Zeppelin
Cheap Trick
Queen
Alright boys, back on the shelf.
Van Halen of course
The Stones, because they've made tons of albums
Janis Joplin singing with her 3 successive bands, because I couldn't do without her voice
Creedence, because you can never forget Fogerty
Pink Floyd, for dull moods
Damn, I'd be pissed to give up on the rest though!
As impossible as it would be for me to narrow it down to 5, I'd probably have to go with.....
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
Van HALEN
The Grateful Dead
U2
I love all their music, of course, but in the case of all but Van Halen (where the number of quality boots available is still relatively low for a band that has been around almost 40 years) the decision was made, based on the sheer volume of bootlegs acquired over the years. If you have to listen to the same 5 bands repeatedly, at least have the ability to change up the song list once in a while, right?

In no particular order....
Fishbone
Frank Zappa & the Mother's of Invention
Led Zeppelin
Porcupine Tree
The Beatles
VH W/Roth
Beatles
The Who
Led Zep
CCR
“The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”― Stephen Hawking
that's a horrible prospect, only 5 bands for the rest of my life. Well - bands, not solo performers - in no particular order:
The Stones, late 60s to mid 70s
Blue Oyster Cult, 72-80ish
Van Halen with DLR
ABBA (yeah, no kidding)
Thievery Corporation
THINK LIKE THE WAVES
1985 It never went away.
Sorry if (at least) one of these necessarily has a cover band doing the original composer:
Handel
Kansas
Van Halen
They Might Be Giants
Gentle Giant
But hard to not hear FZ and the Mothers ever again....would hurt.

Guess your hitting glasgow ?
Literally. I hate going to gigs sober.
And yeah they're not cheap , there was some on sale for 130 odd pound I was glad I didnt have to go that steep.
The thing I'm pissed off about is we are really far back but still paying top price I think because we are in the centre.
I shouldn't complain it sold out very quick and my pal did well to get anything.
£300 for a night out though jeez, I could get 30 bottles of vodka for that which is a month out.
Thats like the Tommy Cooper whiskey diet joke
The NEC is ok and the transport links are great but I think the new Glasgow arena beats it hands down. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-24345954
