I stayed up and watched the eclipse roll in. I set my spotting scope up on a tripod and that worked great. It didn't really turn red, it turned a bronze color.

One one hand, that's a great picture, but on the other hand, putting a supposedly "red" moon above a bright red bridge somehow makes it look a lot less red.

Kinda like those red "Roy Orbison" sunglasses I used to have.... they made everything that was actually red look "white". It was really weird, especially when I was stoned. Which was the main reason I wore those glasses so much back then.... so my eyes didn't look so red

Me too. Stayed out on my deck for an hour in 25 degrees freezing my nuts off, only to drag my arse out of bed three hours later. Saw a bitchin falling star though that seemed like a tear drop falling right out of the bottom of the moon. That alone was worth the near frostbite.
