Thanks..trying to get back to guitar..haven't really played for a year. The clip was recorded on a roland cube.
I've been recording at a friends house who has pro tools and a 9000 $ compressor and other stuff...wow..the sound quality is awsome..i made one note out of tune and he just adjusted the tone/pitch with a button and it was in tune...crazy..LOL..nice to have an engineer..will post soon.
'The walnut on is eddie van halen style..one humbucker...the guitar play incredible but looks freaky.
Now I just bought Charvette neck 2nd hand and am making new body..still have a humbucker and a single coil.Might make satriani type guitar.
Roth on!

Hi all,
I put charvette neck on walnut guitar..I put 2 humbuckers in there..ibanez evo jem damarzio and a neck ..might get 1979 V2 ibanez soon.
I'm installing a killswitch but I'll still have one pot hole on the body.(1 tone,1 vol,3 way switch + killswitch).
Anybody got a tip to do with the leftover hole?
Are there more things like killswitch? Or maybe some booster or something?
This guitar is gonna be great..put hipshot trem setter in there too.
roth on!
I think I'm gonna do a blue led light 2 volt..when i press the killerswitch and scratch with it the light will flicker on and off.
So does 2volt led light effect the tone?
without battery is it possible?
I don't think it will mess with the tone. Hamer made guitars with LED's in the fretboard and they were okay.

Thanks!! Still have to find the right diagram to solder it to kill switch.
I got the SPST NO..which is stupid..I need the SPST NC switch/button.
Going to electro store tomorrow and get help on installing led and get right button.
Guitar is gonna be great and setup too. finaly
Depends. Won't mess with the tone if it's not part of the circuit, but -unless it's *heavily* shielded, just being in the general vicinity could cause noise.
What WILL mess with the tone - is the bridge pickup sitting practically on top of the bridge. THAT... could be a huge problem (trust me on this, BM - been there). YMMV, but you may find once you've reassembled and played it for a while you'll want to back that up a bit. There's a fine line between "closer to the bridge for added bite" ala an angled Strat pickup, and "icepick".

Oh, and for the record... saw Jack Blades play one of those Hamer basses with the LEDs in the fretboard on the "Rock in America" tour, and YES you could hear it when he turned it on.
You must have seen that video that your Seymour Duncan people put up recently with the same thing played on the same guitar but with 15 of their different pickups.
I heard/saw it on not great PC speakers but I was really struck by how little difference there seemed to be between models.

Yeah, I've seen it, it was done by Keith Merrow. Cool dude and total riffmeister. As for not hearing much in the way of variation? With the exception of the '59/Custom Hybrid, they were all high-output pickups. Once you're in that territory with the pickup's output, combined with that much gain, any difference you'd hear would be subtle at best... and what you are hearing is the difference in magnets, polepiece material, and wire gauge, etc. I still pretty much like the 59/Custom & JB pickups the best in that video.
As much as I loved it, I pulled the custom pickup MJ made for me to review the Jason Becker Perpetual Burn (wasn't out when that vid was made, but it's not high output either so might not have been). It's not coming out, that thing sounds amazing. Like a more polite JB that is secretly a Ninja. The day the review posted I got a FB thank you message from Jason (!).

I nearly gave you a shout to ask what pickup to put in my main guitar (see guitar porn thread) but I did some research and the Custom Custom seemed to fit plus I already had it in my Schecter V thing which sounds good. Seeing the video reassured me that as you say with the high output pickups there isn't a vast difference.
What does make a much more significant difference and again I thank you for the tip is the brass block which I have put into 2 of my 3 spares although it's obviously not an option with the Kahler.
You certainly could have, but that's likely what I would have recommended. I had a Custom Custom in the Koa Warmoth Strat for a couple of years, great pickup. Switched it out for a JB to do a review, liked it a little better in that particular guitar. But the Perpetual Burn sounds killer in the Bomber guitar...
I still like the Titanium blocks the best, but it depends on the guitar. The Copper ones sound cool too. IMO Brass sounds better than the standard block in anything; I'd go with Copper for a guitar that was too bright, and Ti for a darker sounding one. Although the Bomber is Ash with a Maple neck, pretty bright on its own, still not harsh-sounding with a Ti Block. Was a tad snarly with a Brass one IIRC...
And you DO have an option, you know: Yanking the Kahler and having that guitar routed for a Floyd. Not cheap, but problem solved.
Quite a big price difference between brass and titanium though and it sounded to my ear like not such a massive difference in tone.
I'm hoping the weight of the Moon will offset the lack of a block.
My other non brass block guitar that I use is an Ibanez RGT3170 straight through with a mahogany body as well with a Dimarzio Tone Zone and it holds it's own tone wise.
I may yet just get a block for it as they do Edge ones as well. It's a really nice guitar and not cheap but I'm still not completely convinced with it as I find it a little bit less easy to play than I would hope.
Oh and no I'm not replacing the Kahler on the other one.
Yeah FU-Tone does indeed make them for Edge Trems, but I'm surprised - It's not easy to play? Is that not the "wizard" neck profile? Too bad; not an Ibanez fan, but nice flame...
It's nice enough but not my favorite. Most of the time I would rather pick up the Japanese RG that arrived in a bin bag for a few hundred from EBay that I've since customized a bit.
It's maybe just me, the neck feels a bit chunky for me. I'm not sure what the problem is and it's maybe just personal although they didn't make them for long. It's a top quality guitar that looks good, stays in tune and sounds great but...
I think I may sell it at some point.
Again like almost all my guitars I found it second hand and they are rare enough only ever sold in Japan. I really pushed the boat out on it and it's the most I've ever paid for a guitar but I have a little bit of buyers regret if I'm honest. I think it's still worth at least what I paid for it though which is more than you can say for most things...
I think with that particular guitar the binding on the neck would annoy me. YMMV. If you like the guitar itself but dislike the neck, why not just replace that? You can get JEM copy necks with the wizard profile easily. You could make the guitar feel and play more like the other one you like, or order one to the specs you think you'd like better than either of them...
If that guitar is from a well respected builder I wouldn't change anything and just sell it and get what you like to play. If you don't dig it, you don't dig it.
