I like the curvature of the headstock in that second pic. Very nice!

You did a nice job on the head stock. It's unique and looks good. Looks like you get to have some fun with a router and templates. All I can say is it's easer to measure a few times and make sure it's right than to put wood back. Good luck on the rest of it!
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

Well hopefully Bluemustard isn't weeping in a corner with a ruined guitar body.

                  Hi Elvis,

I used a router on the back.
I didn't get my pick ups yet.Slight delay UPS.Getting it next week.
I use mold / template with the router.
This project might go to hell but just wanted to try.
My cousin is giving me tips..he made 28 strats.
Hope to post pics next week.Very scared to use router a lil.

Routers are fun. Start slow, don't try to go too deep on the first pass.

You pretty much have to be on the mark with those body routings and bridge pin holes. If you are off even a little bit the strings won't align with the neck, the innotation will be off and the pickups won't be in alignment with the strings. Also moving a pickup forward or backwards has a huge effect on the tone. So your pickup cavities are dependent on what kind of bridge you are installing and the speaking length of the string. There's a lot to consider. The advantage of routing a body yourself is you can fine tweak your pickup placement opposed to being stuck with what's on a pre-routed body. The devil is in the details.

I figured you cut the back hole prior to gluing and clamping the top on...

I would strongly encourage that you practice routing the exact cut you will do for a pickup on some similar scrap wood...

It reduces the fear factor and builds confidence...
