That's just it...you can't apply a desired federal tax code based on whether you like the person or not.

You could apply that logic to the current generation of Kennedys, but Jack, Bobby, and Teddy were pretty well established by the time old Joe died.

Even more so, Joe helped launch their political careers at a time when the rich were paying 91%, so that's even less of an advantage compared to the inheritance rich kids of today.

Established eh. Let's see...JFK went from very exclusive private school to studying abroad to Harvard. After a few years in the military, he went straight into congress and stayed in public service all the way up to the Presidency. I'm not sure what salaries we're like in public service in the 50's, but considering he was worth 100's of millions (in todays dollars) in his early 40's, it must have been substantial. Of course, the money came from joe. Also, even with the tax rate at 91%, most of joe's money came from very shady places. Go ask the mob how much they paid in taxes

p.s taxes on capital gains we're arguably lower in the 20's and 30's than today..a huge source of papa joe's wealth.
