It really shouldn't be. Oil filters are fairly basic and should be able to handle the engine pressures. The engines themselves are fine, I have no idea why GM would have this problem...

The American cars have come a long way but in the end you're paying for the engine. It's definitely a niche thing, definitely can't compare it to the Euro cars.
It's exciting that we're even having conversations about 500-700hp street cars. I think the next 5 years are going to be very good for car guys. Everyone has skin in the game now.. it's getting good.

Yeah, um, not particularly impressed by too many Euro cars as far as quality control goes. And much of GM is Euro...

They're nice, my sister-in-law has one in Florida no less. BMW has come a long way as well, but they've had their garage queens and ticks as well. Looking at you, previous gen Series 7. Either greatest car ever or rotting white elephant in the garage - this from a German no less...

What's the old Euro joke about German engineering? "Why make something that runs perfectly well with four parts when you can use 16 parts?"

Charger, Challenger, and 300 have a lot of Mercedes in them.

I'm tired of driving slow. I need some speed, but ain't gonna get it until some of the salt washes off the streets. I got to look at my SRT as I got the snowblower out today.

    Wait a minute.....

ELVIS works in a car wash, drives a Dodge Charger, and is growing increasingly more irrational all the time?

Unholy shit, I think I just figured out who he is!

Did a search of a few local CDJR dealers, only one had a Hellcat, and now it's sold. A Challenger in Torred, with a sticker of $65 large. That dealership moves a lot of SRTs.

Elvis, except for the differing standards on build quality we actually agree for the most part. For a roomy, fast, and really fun car it is a good choice. Great full performance cars are great on a track as well. Hellcat is not in that league but that is not a knock. I got rid of a performance car because frankly it was no damn fun on a daily basis.

Vain, I agree American build quality has improved a ton. The c7 is way better finished especially its interior compared to the c6. The fact 550-700 hp is what we can talk about is indeed a great time for cars and going forward I think you will see more unique, customized designs become more and more accessible as manufacturing techniques continue to allow for more flexibility. A great time to be a car guy

Have you ever driven one of these? There is a dealer in Denver that converts them to left drive for the states. I have not driven one yet, if you have how does it handle?

Nearly the same thing as a Pontiac G8, or a Chevy SS. Minus the blower, that is.

I can't believe that GM never put the Ute on the US market. Seems like with all the 60s retro designs out there currently, there would be a place for a rebooted "El Camino" or "Ranchero" or something along those lines. Chevy had the "SSR" but that was only around for a couple of years, and I think I've only seen one on the road, even up on Earth. Needless to say, none of them ever made it down here.

GM was considering selling the ute here as a Pontiac G8 ST, as in sport truck, but then the economy went to shit and Pontiac went away.

Yep. I remember our Holden guys had big plans for the ute over there until the shit hit the fan.
I did drive the supercharged V6 one, it drove great. They race them here too, as a support class for the V8 Supercars.

Edit: I've owned a few V8 Utes over the years, very tail happy obviously! They take a little adapting to.

No. he's a total douchebag. When you deny the Holocaust and claim that parents of children murdered in a mass shooting at a school in Sandy Hook are lying "crisis actors," he's seriously a total fuck slug. He could crash his fucking Chrysler POS and die for all I care...

Looks like there was some thought of restoring it?
