Ok there are various fashion issues with that picture but what Hagar is wearing looked terrible at the time on every level, the guy is clueless.

You are seriously going to single him out? Did you look at the entire pic?

    It's a color thing.

The other 7 may vary in silly fashions or just boring 1980s menswear but Hagar's jacket could never ever go with the red and yellow.

Also red pants are the only item there that has actually led to getting their own website!

I find this thread highly insulting.

But it's good to see that some of you have advanced to the year 1986.

The whole of the 80s, certainly from about '82 onwards, was a bit of a fashion nightmare in rock music. And it wasn't just bands / performers who hit it big first time in the 80s. The 60s and 70s acts who were still around were wearing the same crap - stripes and padded shoulders everywhere. And mullets.

Well.... Johnny was a Republican, so he was sort of "not cool" for that reason. It never bothered me until he made a pro-Chimp speech when the Ramones were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Just wasn't the time or place for that shit.

Thank all that's unholy he didn't write the lyrics, and actually let Joey get away with "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg" and "The KKK Took My Baby Away".

On the subject of band height I always thought Joey was to tall to be in a band , he was like a giant when I saw them . Obviously being up on a stage didnt help .

Yeah, he was just a bean pole. And poor Joey.... he really looked out of place on stage during one of those rare songs when DeeDee sang the lead, and since he didn't play any instruments, he just had to stand there and fuck around with the mic stand for the entire song.....

Seriously? I don't automatically dislike someone because I don't agree with their political views. They're entitled to their opinions just like everybody else in this country. If I disliked every liberal actor I might as well tell Time Warner to turn the cable off. If I disliked every liberal musician I'd never turn the radio on. There's more to life than politics. Unless their spewing their political opinions in their music or in movies or tv I really don't give a damn what their views are.
You're starting to sound more and more like Adolf Hitler everyday. You want everyone to think like you and you act like anyone who doesn't should be taken out and shot. You sound like you're on a mission to save the planet from the evil republicans and conservatives. There's plenty of evil bastards on the other side too.

Hang on there C dog; I've seen you be less than respectful to people because of their position on various issues. But then, so have I.

In Oz, we call this 'playing the man, not the ball'. I guess we're all guilty to a degree.

1986 was a great year for me. Chernobyl, Challenger disasters notwithstanding.

Every thread doesn't have to include politics. I respect Ford for standing up for what he believes in but at the same time I get tired of seeing nine million posts a day about how every member of the republican party is evil personified.
It's not even his political views that annoy me. It's the constant bombardment. A little less political commentary wouldn't hurt anyone. Doesn't anybody else come here to get away from reality? Don't you get enough reality in your everday life as it is? Reality sucks. The world is full of evil people doing evil things every minute of everyday. That's reality. Doesn't mean I need or want to be reminded of it every minute of the day too.

I guess a fundamental difference is I largely view this as entertainment; the world's most interesting reality show, if you will. So I enjoy the forthright cut and thrust purely on that level.

And, as you say, I've got plenty to occupy my time out there in 4D land...

A fun challenge for the conspiracists: 90% of my posts randomly contain coded messages.

See if you can spot them!

I know it's early but I'm surprised I'm not buried from the shit storm I assumed was coming. The Army sure has changed for the better recently. I don't have a problem with Ford in general. He believes what he says but I don't agree with most of it. It's not the good guys against the bad guys in politics. It's the bad guys against the bad guys and we're in the middle. The entire world's going to hell in a hand basket at warp speed but talking about it every minute of everyday isn't going to change anything. I try to avoid the subject as much as possible but it's right there everytime I turn on my computer. I don't enjoy watching television or going to the movies so I spend too much time on the computer. Spider solitaire gets old after awhile so I end up checking out sites like this or videos and images of gruesome accidents and murders. That shit starts getting to me so I end up back here and a couple other places online. I go to the American Legion to get away from the house for awhile but there's always somebody there talking politics too. They just lean in the opposite direction. I'm on call at work and it's kind of slow right now so I still have way too much free time on my hands.
