Montgomery Alabama had the coolest July 30 since reliable record keeping began in 1872. Wednesday's low of 59 degrees shattered the previous low of 66 degrees set in 1889.
Although there were reports that Wednesday's temperature also set the record for the all-time low in July, National Weather Service meteorologist Michael Garrison said while it was the coolest temperature Montgomery had experienced in July, it didn't break the record.
"The temperature tied it, but it didn't break it," said the Birmingham meteorologist, adding that the previous all-time record was a low of 59 degrees that Montgomery experienced on July 20, 2009.
This was the third round of record-setting lows the area has seen this July.
But it has still been a hot one.
The cool weather has alternated with some very hot weather, and the result is that so far even with several record-setting lows, as of Wednesday night this was only the 69th coolest July on record, Garrison said.
And while he said much of Wednesday's low temperatures haven't been averaged in, Garrison said he'd be surprised if those figures moved the overall rankings among Montgomery's coolest.
Still, at least, it looks like the cooler temperatures we've been having will move on into August.
"Thursday will probably reach the low 90s, but it shouldn't hit 90 again for the next week or 10 days," he said. "Through the middle of next week and possibly until the end of next week, it looks like temperatures should remain anywhere from 2 to 4 degrees below average temperatures for this time of year."
OMG! That proves that Global Climate Change is FAKE once and for all!
So Elvis, what do you have to show that Jesus is real? Because I can post 15,000 news articles that show he's a fraud too...

June was the 352nd consecutive month in a row with temperatures that were above the global average. The last cooler-than-average month was February 1985, the month of “Careless Whisperer.” The June hot streak extends back even further, with the last cool June coming in 1976 when people were grooving to Wings’ chart topper, “Silly Love Songs.”

Death Valley, Calif., which is known for being the world’s hottest location, maxed out at a relatively chilly 89 degrees on Sunday. This temperature – nearly 30 degrees below average – was its coolest high temperature on record for the date by a whopping 15 degrees. The previous record of 104 was set in 1945.
This was only the eighth time that a high in the 80s has occurred in Death Valley in July or August, and there hasn’t been a high less than 90 since 1984. Weather records in Death Valley go back to 1911.
Locations that were hotter than Death Valley yesterday include Spokane Wash. (93), Missoula, Mont. (91), Casper, Wy. (92), and Boise, Idaho (99).
The average June high in Death Valley is 110 degrees, July is 117 degrees, and August is 115. This makes Sunday’s high temperature a ridiculous 26 degrees below normal.
Death Valley set the world’s record hottest temperature of 134 degrees on July 10, 1913.
The 89 degree high temp in Death Valley Aug 3 broke the previous record low max of 104 deg set in 1945.
The relatively cool air resulted from extensive cloud cover that blocked out the usual blistering sunshine. These clouds were a product of the Southwest Monsoon which transported unusual amounts of moisture into Southern California, where record rainfall occurred in some areas complemented by floods/mudslides in the mountains.

I for one, have changed my mind. For all the people cloning dinosaurs, there needs to be a huge hole in the ozone layer so those sick, nasty, toothy, lizards can die all over again.
Krusty is toothy ??
PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- Pittsburgh is dealing with one of the coldest summers in history, and it’s having an effect on the trees.
Friday morning temperatures fell into the 40s in Western Pennsylvania.
Meteorologists say these cold temperatures are leading to trees changing colors in the middle of August.
“This is extraordinary for August, and certainly is a reflection of the prevalence of cool weather,” KDKA Meteorologist Dennis Bowman said.
Right now Pittsburgh is on pace for the 9th coldest summer since record keeping began in 1871.
A KDKA weather viewer took these pictures of the leaves already starting to change colors on the South Side of town, and other residents have noticed the same thing happening on the North Shore.
Marlene Evans says she is noticing the trees already changing along Water Street. They show yellow and red leaves already mixing in with the trees’ green leaves.
Bowman says it is odd to see the golden yellow and red leaves already showing up.
The Polar Vortex pattern that we saw in January, also caused cold temperatures in July.
“There has been a frequency of cold fronts this summer, and the weather for June, July, and August has been substantially below normal,” Bowman said.
"Cold is warm."
The apparent recovery in Arctic ice looks like good news for polar bears.
If there is more ice at the end of the summer, they can hunt seals more easily. Yet even when the ice reached a low point in 2012, there was no scientific evidence that bear numbers were declining, with their estimated total of 20,000 to 25,000 thought to be higher than in the 1970s, when hunting was first banned.
In many Arctic regions, say scientists, they are in robust health and breeding successfully.
Computer model predictions of decline caused by ice melt have also failed to come true. In 2004, researchers claimed Hudson Bay bear numbers would fall from 900 to fewer than 700 by 2011. In fact, they have risen to over 1,000.
However, the main international bear science body, the Polar Bear Specialist Group, admits it has no reliable data from almost half of the Arctic, so cannot say whether numbers are falling or rising.

Maps reveal how climate change is poised to drown Louisiana
Rising seas and eroding grounds are poised to swamp southeastern part of the state and half of all US oil refineries, ProPublica investigation reveals
By Carl Franzen on August 29, 2014 11:48 am
The fragile state of coastal Louisiana's defenses against rising seas were laid bare nine years ago to the day, when Hurricane Katrina made landfall in New Orleans. But the horrific damage to life and property caused by that storm pales in comparison to what is projected in the coming few years and decades: as a comprehensive and beautifully designed ProPublica investigation reveals, seas along the entire US coastline are poised to rise between 1.5 and 4.5 feet by 2100, while the coastline along Southeast Louisiana is on its own expected to experience a water level increase of 4 to 5 feet.
That would mean that most of the area known as "the boot" — which includes half of America's working oil refineries — would be underwater, a fact illustrated starkly by ProPublica's expert use of interactive, layered maps . And if you doubt the urgency of those projections or the reality of climate change, consider this: already, rising seas and eroding grounds have resulted in Louisiana losing 25 percent of its usable land (about 1,883 square miles) since 1930. It's honestly difficult to even conceive of the destruction that's in store unless drastic steps are taken to protect Louisiana's coastline. Read the full ProPublica report and just try not to be affected. And if that's not enough for you, take a look at the UN's latest report on climate change, which projects more catastrophic effects around the world.
Rising seas...
First of all, man is not in control of the climate and he never will be...
Secondly, you're brain is pickled...
Have you ever looked into the accuracy of computer weather forecast models ??
It's a joke...
Junk science...
Go back to Katrina and look at the forecast models...
And stop editing my posts, please...

The climate is always changing, that's not the issue...
No shit, but we're the ones changing it since it happens to directly correspond rise of agriculture and the industrial revolution. You can go back to your industry and oil shill sites now to get your Goebbels-like talking points...
Riiiiiiiiiiggght, so that extraordinary drought in California (which the corporate media still continues to ignore) is all "Gawd's plan" to rid the state of liberals?
"The 2013–2014 California drought was initiated by an anomalous high-amplitude ridge system. The anomalous ridge was investigated using reanalysis data and the Community Earth System Model (CESM). It was found that the ridge emerged from continual sources of Rossby wave energy in the western North Pacific starting in late summer and subsequently intensified into winter. The ridge generated a surge of wave energy downwind and deepened further the trough over the northeast U.S., forming a dipole. The dipole and associated circulation pattern is not linked directly with either El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) or Pacific Decadal Oscillation; instead, it is correlated with a type of ENSO precursor. The connection between the dipole and ENSO precursor has become stronger since the 1970s, and this is attributed to increased greenhouse gas loading as simulated by the CESM. Therefore, there is a traceable anthropogenic warming footprint in the enormous intensity of the anomalous ridge during winter 2013–2014 and the associated drought.
Not only do you swim in ignorance soon you'll be literally drowning in it, too.
