That's astounding. Our place is hilly like that, but more of a caldera. So there's a central 500 million year old volcanic plug, then central waves of hills radiating out to the sea east, and north south west for hundreds of kms.
The trees are ancient red cedar, strangling figs, and gums though. Not the birches and pines you have..
Down south in the highland snow fields we have them also. You'd love Tasmania, or should I more correctly say Van Diemen's land.
