Listen everyone - I live 10 minutes from Ferguson . The entire area is shutting down and being put on alert . Lotsa rumblings from all sides . Most everyone is hoping for the best but expecting the worst . I got a memo at work today explaining my companies plan of operations just in case . This shit isn't funny and it isn't going away anytime soon . I am a level headed person and I do have a CCW . I've had it for several years now . Years before , when my late wife and I owned a bar I carried anyways just because . The cop shop next door knew this and looked the other way . Gun and ammo sales locally are off the charts as well as applications for CCW's . I'm of the opinion that God himself gave me this gift of life and by God , I will do what I have to do to protect that gift . St. Louis is a historically racially divided city with a long and ugly history of violent crime . The local and national media is doing no one any favors by sensationalizing this situation . Seems like we've always been just one incident away from being right where we are right now . Hopefully cooler heads will prevail .
