I don't understand the uproar...

It's normal when any sort of tragedy occurs these days for people to deposit flowers, cards, candles, pictures, etc... at the site where it occurred. The middle of a street is not very practical, though. Odds favor it was some drunk looter that plowed through it with their car...

But... outdoors, within a week or so in the weather all that stuff literally turns into a pile of trash that needs to be hauled off at some point.

They should build a statue to honor Mike Brown. Maybe name a high school after him. That way all the kids in that community can learn about the life he led. Have a class in strong arm robbery I mean shoplifting. Maybe name a few streets after the guy. Make a holiday for him too, call it Rob A Store Day. And, obviously, you gotta fire all the white cops and prosecutors and grand jurors and garbage men and everything else. Just get rid of the Honkies altogether.

Well.... two criminals who are still very much alive burned a couple buildings to the ground back in 2001, and we're still stuck in useless wars on the other side of the planet because of that. So I guess it's all a matter of perspective?

Missouri man who protested police in Cleveland accused of setting fire three days later

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 19-year-old St. Louis man who participated in a weekend of protests here over the fatal shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice is accused of setting fire to a Missouri store three days after leaving town.

Joshua Williams was never accused of wrongdoing during his time in Cleveland with about 200 other protestors Dec. 20-21.

Williams was among the 40 or so people who traveled from Missouri to join local protests over Rice's death, according to Missouri activist Shellie Robinson, who made the trip to Cleveland with Williams.

Rice was shot by a Cleveland police officer after waving a pellet gun outside Cudell Recreation Center.

"I usually travel with the groups to help the younger activists because it's an emotional disruption for them," Robinson said.

Williams is described by national media outlets as a well-known activist, who advocated for peaceful protests in Ferguson, Missouri, and Washington D.C. Ferguson was rocked with protests after the shooting death of Michael Brown by a police officer.

At one point during his time in Cleveland, Williams spoke with Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams outside Quicken Loans Arena, where the group marched to on Dec. 21.

No one was arrested or accused of any crimes during the two days of protests in Cleveland, which included marches on some of downtown's thoroughfares.

After leaving Cleveland, Williams is accused of using lighter fluid to set several fires, inside and outside of a convenience store in Berkeley, Missouri, on Christmas Eve. He confessed to the crimes, the Associated Press reported.

Williams was charged Saturday with arson, burglary and theft in St. Louis County Court.

Williams was protesting in Berkeley after a police officer there fatally shot Antonio Martin, 18.

Williams' attorney, Dedra Moore, told Northeast Ohio Media Group that Williams has a lot of supporters in Missouri. Moore said Williams has participated in rallies in Missouri and elsewhere. She declined further comment.
