What a bunch of whiny bitches. Always blaming anyone, but the person responsible. This kid was fully capable of handling that gun, had she been properly INSTRUCTED by the INSTRUCTOR!

If she were my kid, would I have put that gun in her hands? NO! If I did, I'd have been the one INSTRUCTING her, and she damn sure would have had better INSTRUCTION than that dead fuck INSTRUCTOR gave her. The INSTRUCTOR is responsible for his own death. He did not INSTRUCT her on the proper way to hang on to a weapon like that, or even how to stand properly. He basically put the gun in her hand, and told her to pull the trigger. He took a SHORT CUT with the training, and now he's DEAD! He has no one to blame but himself. If he had reservations about whether or not she could handle that gun, he should have refused to INSTRUCT her.

They're also dirty as fuck and you have to clean the weapon much more intensively...

When in tactics training with the MILES Gear and using blanks, we eventually used to fire as little as possible once the novelty of shooting and M-16 wore off. The rifles would be filthy at the end of the day if you did, and that meant endless cleaning. Basically, the powder doesn't get ejected as much as it does with a live round pulling it out the chamber and everything gets so fouled up. By the end of AIT, I recall giving the gungho dummies my extra blanks and just shooting a few rounds at the people I didn't like...

That was a .44 magnum pressed against his head, which built up pressure between the barrel and his skull. The blanks we had in the Army weren't very powerful and sometimes we'd fuck with each other by pressing up against them with the barrel of the weapon...

Well, keep in mind he did stick it to his temple and pull the trigger. That caused a piece of his skull to go tumbling around in his brain. But you're right, blanks are dangerous. Most blanks use paper wadding and if fired closely enough to somebody's head or eye, they can fuck you up.

I don't think you do. However painful it is of me to say this I am in agreement with Von here. That was piss-poor and mismanaged instruction. I too learned to shoot around that age (not with an Uzi) with a Winchester .30-.30 that I must say had a lot of kick. Never once did my dad or any other more experienced with firearms than me at the time ever stand beside and give me shitty, condescending instructions such as this guy did. For one, how can you hear shit when you are wearing ear protection and two, did that guy really think he could grab that gun from that little girl if the recoil was too much? That's like saying "Hey, I can stop a Mac truck by simply standing in front of it." You never stand that close to an inexperienced gun user on a open rifle range. Even when I learned to shoot my 9mm did my instructor (an ex Army ranger) ever stand beside me. He was always a good 4 to 6 feet behind me. The guy simply was not thinking or did he have a shred of respect for that weapon in that girl's hands. Seriously, like Nick's sexist shit, was he believing that a UZI in the hands of a young girl makes it any less dangerous? For fuck's sake when military recruits are first placed on a rifle range do their instructors stand that close when they are pulling the trigger?

What spree? She was on a confined shooting range. And I do agree an UZI is not a proper weapon to learn gun safety/shooting on. Hardly practical. But I don't think that was the intention here. Been there, done that. When I was about 8 my dad took me and my 13 year old brother to a company picnic, got so drunk he couldn't walk and had my brother drive us home in his 58 T Bird. My brother had driven a car before but not on the street. We made it home in one piece but my brother was all over the road. Good thing we lived in the boonies back then. We're lucky we didn't end up in a ditch. Doubtful the car even had seat belts.
