Why is Mallory so angry? Is it because he's white?
And what's with the beard? Some sort of Kenny Rodgers identity crisis?

If you hate the state of Israel you're an anti semite.
Anti-Semitism (also spelled antisemitism or anti-semitism) is prejudice against, hatred of, or discrimination against Jews as a national, ethnic, religious or racial group.[1][2] A person who holds such positions is called an "anti-Semite". As Jews are an ethnoreligious group, anti-Semitism is generally considered a form of racism.
You accussed Israel of practicing apartheid. You're discriminating against jews as a nation. You don't live there. Who are you to judge them? A racist canuck. Why don't you petition your government to replace the maple leaf with the swastika as your national symbol, Eva Braun?

Yeah, Mick Jagger observed something along these very same lines about a couple of years ago or so.
It's not just the record biz, either. It's the entire entertainment industry. Everything is wildly over-"market tested" in this country. The artists are simply not allowed to get into a position to be in control anymore like they once were. These days, going indie is pretty much the only way to go.

So the Palestinians are actually Semites without question. Whether or not white Russians like NuttyYahoo are is open to debate.Sem·ite

I'm glad you pointed that out; I almost added the words "or selling out" at the end of my post, but figured I had already said enough.
Quite a few acts seem to do such things and get extra money on the sly, but very cautiously; remember the number of artists here in the West who would normally never do a television commercial advertising something with their music (including Dave) doing so overseas in Japan?

Gene's right about one thing: The first time you get onstage and play for money, you've sold out. And there's no shame in that. How many musicians really want to be poor as shit and never get their music heard? Ok, there's that wino that hangs out at the post office playing harmonica, but other than him - None.

Naahh. That's just a line to make everyone seem as shameless and guilty as him. I'd been on stage and played for money. That money went into stamps and flyers for the next show. Millions of bands have played there asses off to reach for success, this much is true, but not all musicians strive to be like Yogurt from Spaceballs the way Gene did.

If you got paid then you sold out. And I hope you sold out every show

You're an uneducated idiot, and show me where I said I hated Israel. You want to tell these holocaust survivors that they're anti-semitic while you're at it? My issue with Israel is the apartheid practices and the cultural genocide they are participants in. They learned from the best, after all...

And how about you cite your reputable source, and no, Wiki doesn't suffice. Let's go with Oxford:
Hostility to or prejudice against Jews. I dislike the religion just as much as all the others, but i respect an individuals rights to their own beliefs. I'm probably the most non-racist person you could ever meet...
Idiot.

Yeah, it's unfortunately true that digital saves them all cash and is convenient for purchase. There's something far more special about official digital copies, though, particularly if you enjoy the art. While it's true that iTunes gives you the option to printout the booklet/liner notes, for instance, that just doesn't feel the same to me personally as having the genuine item.
And now, back on topic. The marketing and distribution has changed, but there's a lot of good music out there if you look for it...

Ironically, a lot of bands here (young hipsters and 'heritage' alike) still press their music onto hq vinyl. There are still a few Aussie companies providing the service, and people are buying it.
A local young band I know just produced a limited run of a single, sold em all before they were pressed.

I now feel just how my Dad probably felt when albums went the way of the tape, then CD. I love the CD format for purchase and I miss 'the hunt' at new and used CD stores. Getting them on line just ain't the same, but better than nothing. I just hate where technology is going with official product. You have to have full trust in your computer and your own computing skills (of which I have next to none) to manage your collection. Yuck! I want my shit stacked on a shelf where I can sees it, dang it! I'll take an IPod over a discman any day, but beyond that, gimme a stereo with a CD player.

I think a better way to put it is the big rockstar is dead. What were all those kids on the Sunset Strip trying to get in the 1980's? A record deal. That was the dream. Gone are the days when bands could put out albums and sell millions of them and whoever in the band had the publishing rights made even more. Now money has to be earned the hard way. On the road.
That doesn't mean an artist can't go out on the road themselves and make some good money. They won't have a record company taking it's cut but they also won't have the marketing and promotion that provided. There won't be the big stage show. Things will be slimmed down. But maybe all that got a bit silly anyways. Who knows.

Oh your poor, poor Walmart degenerative consumer. You have no clue. "Selling Out" is when the corporate label you just signed to takes 98% of your revenue and also owns your merchandising and music publishing rights. "Selling Out" is when a metrosexual in leather pants comes backstage to one of your gigs and says touring is expensive but if your place these corporate banners (usually beer) they will help to pay for some of the expense(s). "Selling Out" is playing for mega-corporate sponsored shill events like 'Burning Man' and 'Coachella' and then going on Letterman. "Selling Out" is suffering for your art by taking it up the ass by greedy execs in suits, only back in the F A T Jew's day there were far more opportunities.
