Eddie Van Halen & car insurance

A lot of you guys know I work for one of the big auto insurance companies. The other day I'm wearing my VH 2007 tour shirt (casual day) and an older lady adjuster stops me to tell me a wonderful story....

Years ago she was doing a sit along with a young trainee girl. Listening on the phone & assisting her. ANyways she gets a call from a person filing a claim for auto damage. Well the guy is only a rep and we can't speak to him without authorization from the policyholder. The rep doesn't wanna give up the contact info at first but finally relents. The trainee says she will call to get auth to speak to rep & then call rep back.

She calls out and asks for Mr. Edward Vann Haulin please.....(the older adjuster is trying to whisper to the girl "its Eddie fucking Van Halen you idiot!"). Adjuster isn't supposed to talk until call is ended, but she's flipping out the whole time like any of us would be. The man says yes, Im Edward. So the trainee starts to get the basic info about the car damages.

Edward - "man, I had a few drinks & slipped a little off the road on Coldwater and hit some bushes"

Trainee - "Sir, you really shouldn't be driving after you've had drinks"

Edward - "I was coming home from a concert"

Trainee - "Oh that's nice. So you went to a concert?"

Edward - "Uhh, yeah something like that (chuckling)"

Trainee - "Well thank you for your time sir. I will be contacting your rep immediately to complete the claim"

Sadaist found his old policies in our system. Blacked out my company name & his old numbers just so I don't cross any lines ya dig?

Jim Morrison would have just gotten out and left the car with the keys in it. He supposedly crashed his 67 Mustang Shelby into a light pole on Sunset and left it there. Nobody knows what happened to the car after that.

It was pretty easy to get a car tittle in those days. Now it's a nightmare. The only thing you could do is part the car out or sell it on the black market to a foreign buyer. I'm sure with some properly placed pesos you could get tittle in Mexico.

What's a tittle? I doubt anybody looked for the car after Jim abandonded it so it probably got lien saled by whatever tow truck company hauled it away from the scene of the accident but a the vin number search dead ended with Morrison as the last registered owner. A gypsy tow truck driver probably got there first, hooked it up and hauled ass.

I searched for a lot of people when I worked at Progressive. We had a Michael Anthony on the books at the time, but I figured that coulda been anyone. I don't remember if I tried to match it up by DOB. In training we saw a couple celeb policies...well, one celeb and the other the daughter of a well-known murderer.

California was one of the eight states I was licensed in. One day I get a call from a Louisiana rep that wasn't licensed in CA, transferring a customer that was moving to CA. The guy hung up before I got him on the phone...Charlie Clouser from Nine Inch Nails. I knew Reznor had moved to New Orleans and built a studio in his house, I was pretty sure this was the right Clouser.

I searched for him. No luck. I found 7 Sobolewskis nationally but not him.

Hmmm, perhaps if I search for Mrs. Hagar...
