It would have saved Van Halen lol...Hagar was an alternative for Eddie at the time and they made tons of cash and thats how they were thinking at WB......it was just business and I'm sure Dave was just fine about it all....Cheers!

AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd on New Zealand murder plot charge

The drummer of the heavy metal group AC/DC, Phil Rudd, has been charged by New Zealand police with attempting to arrange a murder.

Mr Rudd, who was born in Australia, will also face charges of possessing the drugs methamphetamine and cannabis, and of threatening to kill.

The musician's house in Taraunga, on New Zealand's North Island, was raided on Thursday morning.

AC/DC is due to release a new album later this year.

The band's guitarist, Malcolm Young, was recently diagnosed with dementia.

Mr Rudd, 60, was kicked out of the band in 1983 and rejoined in 1994.

A police official quoted by the SunLive news website said the information that led to the raid on the house was provided by a member of the public.

Just another reason why EVERY drug on the planet should be legalized...

And I'll just go ahead and toss it out there - yes, most meth/pot heads are outstanding members of society. I know. They ALL do nothing but contribute to the greater good and have all sorts of great ideas. Right up until they get all methed out and decide to KILL YOU.

Pot and meth are not even remotely comparable. One is a relatively harmless plant that my Former Employer created. The other is so destructive I won't even allow it in Hell. (not to mention a meth lab explosion in this heat would be a VERY bad thing)

Says you. Ask the meth heads and they'd tell you it should be just as legal as beer. I myself have enjoyed the mary jane many times. But...you can't have it both ways. I say this one's bad, you say this one's good, who decides? The people? Hahahahahah! The trailer park in town would vote for Proposition Meth at a shocking level.

Again, you can't pick and choose the dope that gets legalized, even though half the country is. I used to love cocaine and I NEVER suffered any ill effects. So why can't I go out and buy the good shit, legally?

I don't think anyone here has enough information to comment on whether he should be prosecuted or not at this point.

Why a multi-millionaire drummer rock star would need to try and arrange a murder does seem a bit weird though and instinctively you assume that it was just druggy paranoid rambling BS but who knows...?
