The pickups on those old Kramers were pretty good. I think they were made by Schecter.

I've played a few of the 'lawsuit' headstock guitars and the necks I've played have been very fat. Not in a bad way, but definitely not thin. I'll add one of those to the collection at some point.

The three bolt Strats had beefy necks. Also in those days necks were built by hand and could vary. Today on CNC equipment it's more consistent. Kramer was transitioning from the aluminum necks to wood necks at that time. I have no idea if the law suit necks had the same fretboard radius as a Fender. Really it was the time people were starting transform the Strat into being a better rock and roll guitar. Eddie wasn't the only one tweaking that design.

Here you go. Humbuckers in a Strat in 1976. Before Eddie came onto the national scene.

I was going to go to Guitar Center out by the airport, but the CIC is in town and I didn't want to get stuck waiting for the motorcade to go by. I'll go Monday and maybe bring another one home.

That's exactly what my set-up guy said.. His theory is the previous set-up (stock?) was so bad that no one really played it. I tend to agree.

It's official - I am a guitar-a-holic. This was delivered a couple of days ago. Used 2011 Wolf Special Hardtail Made in Japan.
Not many of these available so somewhat rare. Particularly in quilted maple tobacco burst color.

Where can I receive professional help.

That looks great, I think tobacco sunburst is my fave look for a guitar.

If you buy a used guitar like that at a good price then the way to look at it is that it's just keeping a bit of your bank balance in the form of a guitar which you can convert back whenever.

    How much was it?

Agree on the Tobacco burst color- really pops especially in the red case! So I didn't get a mind blowing deal on it,
but $750.00 including case and shipping seemed fair.

There is a MIC tobacco burst special on Reverb that is mint new/refurbished. Seller says authorized refurbisher couldn't find anything wrong with it so they stamped "used" on back of headstock.
beautiful guitar if you don't mind the MIC label or hardtail version and a pretty good price. There are a few others out there but not many

A few guys I've known over the years have found themselves way richer just by moving to splitting the joint pocket money evenly with their wives and been surprised by that. Wives tend to spend way more than you might think on themselves...

A guitar like that one above could be 2 months female hair and general maintenance...

I bought a 78 Strat used in 1981 and it had the original case, tags and even the receipt. I still have it. I could sell it now for a lot more thanI paid for it. I probably could get $2000 for it. Money well spent.

Wow, these Kramer guitars look so good. I remember when I was a child, my father had two, and when her friend came, they used to have guitar sessions, and it was so cool. I dreamed about playing guitar myself, but when I grew up, it wasn't the time when it was popular or widespread to play guitar. But everything in our world changes so much and so quickly, and all those old trends come back, and now it's quite popular to play guitar again. I'm a huge fan of blues because for me it's one of the most dynamic and powerful sounds, so when I was choosing which guitar to buy, I decided to buy a blues guitar. When I started to look for the guitar, I found out that there is no particular guitar made to play only blues. Famous musicians don't need special guitars to play blues, and the guitar has to have those blue tones. There are a lot of different articles, reviews on the internet about the best guitars, and this is one of the best I found because are a lot of useful info, detailed description, and characteristics of each guitar. Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom EX and Squirer by Fender Classis Vibe 50’S Hand Telecaster Electric Guitar, for now, are the best for me in terms of quality and features, so I need a little more time to think which one to choose.

The problem is the used market is saturated with guitars. Just browse Ebay for LesPauls and there are at least 3000 of them alone.

I noticed all those Les Pauls on eBay aren't really getting sold, either. The used market is so saturated, yet for some reason the prices don't come down.

Was Raspberry Beret added to the setlist?

I haven't even looked for anything lately. I bought a Boss Katana amp a couple months ago and haven't plugged it in yet.

Does the paisley pattern continue under the pick guard, or is the pick guard clear?

Beautiful Strat! I don't think the pick-guard is clear... the pick-up height adjustment screws and lack of routing channels between the pick-ups would be noticeable if it were clear.

Yeah I didn't really think about it at the time but it does mean I'll need to be careful as I don't know how you would replace the scratch plate if something happened to it. The back is paisley patterned too.

Maybe give the pick guard a clear coat to add a layer of protection.

Ok you made me look and I'm impressed. There are actually 2 pick guard plates, a clear smoky one over the paisley one. Also for good measure the pattern is on the guitar itself underneath.

Belt and braces quality. I've been playing it all week, I'm super pleased with it.

Does it have standard pickups and electronics or something special on-board?

That color scheme with the rosewood fret board looks perfect. All my Fenders have maple fret boards... been thinking of looking for something with a softer fret board mainly for some jazz stuff that calls for warmer tone.

What amazes me are the prices on the Custom Shop strats. $4500 for the 'cheap' ones. I'm told they sound just like the old vintage strats; I guess I'll have to take their word for it. But if these are so custom, why does the guitar shop have an entire wall of them on display? Seems like quite a bit of money for a slab guitar they beat-up in the factory.

Ha! Very true. I've seen several weekend warrior bands with superb immaculate high-end guitars that bling so much the audience and the band both need to wear shades.

No offence to any one here but I really hate the relic thing.

Maybe it's because I spent so many years playing crappy beat up guitars when I had no money or maybe it's just because it's fake shit.

Back when I was young I played to hundreds of people with $140 guitars and it was always a worry about tuning or dodgy connections or strings breaking on rusty bridges so these relic people can fuck off.

The only good thing about it was nobody got jealous of your stuff and when half the audience play guitar that's a good thing.
