Now I know a lot of people like to bash Andrew because he's a Sammy Clichegar suck dick, but maybe his "sources" are correct. Time will tell.

Would be great if he is correct, but his track record is for shit. Last time I read any news that guy had, it included an ADKOT song title of "Hurricanes" which was apparently, a bass solo instrumental. Yeah, I love that song.

Right! But when are we going to really hear something official and when will we hear the first new Van Halen material since 2004 and the first new album with David Lee Roth since 1983? Soon folks....
What we know is that the album is done and mixed...John Shanks finishing production work on it earlier this year (with other producer names likely to appear inside the album credits.) The rumoured album title is VH '11, 2011 (or Two Zero One One to be precise) and all rumours point to a mid/late September release.
A single was again rumoured to hit airwaves this weekend, but failed to happen.
What I have previously stated is that I personally believe the new album will be released in October, after Van Halen return home from Australia and a single could likely appear late this month or in August.
I am hoping to have some more precise information from a source close to official goings on later this week. Stay tuned...
But in the meantime, I was contacted last week by an anonymous source with a summary of rumours and "inside" information they happened to be privy to. Ok....due to the demand from fans wanting to hear about anything Van Halen related to keep them busy while counting down the seconds to hell freezing over (the new album appearing in store), here is a summary of the information I was sent.
This is certainly not being printed as gospel or fact, but merely as yet another in the series of much loved Van Halen Rumor Reports that have been printed over the last decade of this band's colourful history. So with that disclaimer in place....here goes folks....
RUMOUR ROUND UP!
- Eddie Van Halen was apparently prepared to tour again with no new album, reluctant to produce new songs. David Lee Roth and especially Wolfgang Van Halen wanted to record new tracks. Wolfgang Van Halen finally convinced his father that he didn't want to go out on tour to replace Michael Anthony, with no new material and without David Lee Roth's input.
- It is suggested that the music was the main thing in EVH's mind and David Lee Roth was asked only to contribute lyrics.
- Seventeen songs were prepared in demo form. One was an instrumental. Fourteen songs were properly recorded. This includes the instrumental. A couple of tracks are likely to be held over as bonus tracks for various uses. Management are currently negotiating with specialist retailers for a deal to release the album, with these bonus tracks possible to make an appearance if an agreement is reached.
- Because of distributing/promotion matters, the release date of first single is still up in the air, although it will (apparently) 'definitely' happen no later than 2nd week of August. The album is expected to be ready to ship in September. [I still say October...].
- Only two tracks feature keyboards of any type. One is the instrumental which briefly features piano. The other features keyboards in the intro, and 'lightly' in the chorus.
- Although Wolfang Van Halen did not write any of the lyrics to the new album, he had a bass solo he was preparing that he titled "Hurricanes", for which David Lee Roth wrote lyrics with the same working title. It is unclear if this song will be included on the album, but it was recorded in demo-form.
- The album title has not been chosen at this point. Many rumours have surfaced... Two likely working titles may be in the running which are "VH '11" and "Two Zero One One". Rumored titles that have not been officially dismissed by band members however are "Mammoth" and "Play".
This information has surfaced because of proposed artwork for the new album which at this point features a brown circle on a glass table with a silver and red Van Halen logo emblazoned upon it (the circle which looks like an M&M). There is a rumour that the brown circle is supposed to represent both the "Brown Sound" of Van Halen and also the infamous M&M chocolate candy contract rider of years past. The proposed artwork does not show all edges of the circle due to a possible 'infringement' with the candy-maker. Rather the outer edges of the circle are 'cut-off' by the square-edged artwork. The reverse side of the album jacket features all four members standing by a garden like area shot in a sepia tone. This photo and others were taken in May on the grounds of Edward Van Halen's studio, 5150. Inner booklet/lyric sheets photos were also shot in and around 5150. [Not sure about this folks...but I guess we'll know soon enough...]
- Two songs recorded have been selected as singles. One song sounding like an early era Van Halen combination of "Beautiful Girls/Jamie's Crying", and the other song sounding more in the vein of "Unchained"/"Drop Dead Legs" (this one features a very lengthy guitar solo by comparison).
- Although no song titles are 'confirmed' at this point, some of the 'working' song titles were/are: "Hurricanes", "Stop Talking" (which is one of the possible first two singles), "Down This Road", and "Who's Looking Back At You?". Other titles have been mentioned, only these four keep resurfacing.
So what do you think folks? It could be a rather detailed exclusive inside look at what's to come...or...not! It's a fun read at very least and further heightens the anticipation of the album and official information. Information I'll do my best to bring forth ASAP. But until then, enjoy the speculation!
VAN HALEN - ALBUM & SINGLE STILL COMING; WORLD TOUR BEING BOOKED:
Welcome to Monday folks... My last Van Halen update was rumours and gossip, but this time around I have some Van Halen FACTS for you. Well...as factual as anything ever gets in VanHalenLand, delivered by a known and trusted source close to ground zero - who, up until this point hasn't had any info at all, as they are not in the habit of delivering rumours to me. Let's go...
- The new Van Halen studio album has NO release date at this point as it is not yet 100% finished. Yep...they are still working on completing it. John Shanks did his bit and now Ross Hogarth, after working with the band in 2010 is back at 5150 to finish the job. There is a single imminent however, but again a date for that arriving at radio or retail is also not yet firm. I'm told "they" are still working on a final mix for the single.
As for a date for the album - I have said all along my money is on October. I'm sticking to that, but with this info, I'd say late October now. No way will the album drop while the band are in Australia and it is desired to have the album out by November because...
- Van Halen's US tour will commence in NOVEMBER!
- Van Halen's 2011/2012 tour will commence in November and I'm told it is likely that the band will stay on the road thru the next Northern summer (mid-2012) with the tour taking in Asia, South America and Europe (watch for the band to possibly headline some festivals in Europe 2012).
That's it for now folks.....short, but concise. Work continues on this album and a single might appear next month. Tour plans are being locked in for a sizeable world tour starting in Australia in September then re-launching in the US in November.

The Truth About The Van Halen “New Album” Rumors
Over the last year, rumors that Van Halen are working on a new album just won’t go away. It seems that every music news website, when mentioning Van Halen, would end their articles with “Van Halen are currently working on a followup to 2012’s A Different Kind of Truth.”
Today that rumor went into overdrive, as one website even claimed that “the new Van Halen album is complete and the songs recorded are now in the mixing stage.”
Of course, we would love nothing more for that to be true. But don’t want to see Van Halen fans get excited about something that’s not happening. The rumor simply is not true. The fact of the matter is that Van Halen has not recorded a new album, or any new music, for that matter.
We at the the Van Halen News Desk are very careful about the information that we present. We are probably the only rock news website that never reported that the band were working on an album over the last year. We’ve always maintained that they’re working on something, but we‘ve never said they were working on an album of new material.
There is some very good news, however. The secret project that David Lee Roth mentioned last year is still in the works. So we WILL be hearing from Van Halen at some point, which we’re really excited about.

So MAYBE they are mixing something other than new music. Would they tour in support of a different product? Would they remix/remaster the US Fest, Oakland, or another CVH show on video and tour behind it when the lineups are slightly different? My guess is no.

Repeatedly shouting 'Fire!' in a cinema during a shitty movie about AOR may get you some attention but it holds no interest for me whatsoever. I'm not in this for the advertising revenue I couldn't give a fuck.
The ego and ignorance of this band never ceases to amaze me. Do they really believe all their secrecy is warranted in this day and age? Do they really believe that shit promotes them in a positive light, and makes them seem more relevant than they really are?
I can't believe this band can do so much right, but at the same time, do so much wrong. I still say their letting people capture the shows with their own recording devices, was brilliant. That was them being ahead of the curve, and thinking outside the box. That was an incredible gesture of appreciation to the fans, in my opinion. But then they hole up and offer us no fucking answers as to what is or what isn't going on. Very frustrating.
Maybe they are just that confident, and know they can reel motherfuckers like me, back in at the drop of a hat. The fact is though, they are losing a lot of hardcore fans. I know huge VH fans from back in the day, that didn't buy ADKOT, nor have they heard it in its entirety, to this day. Nor did they support this band on their most recent tours. The fact is, they don't give a fuck anymore. They have grown tired of the lack of respect to them as fans, by this band. Now VH themselves might argue, they have replaced those fans with newer and younger fans with their last release and subsequent tours. What I don't think they (VH) are taking into consideration, this generation of "fans" these days, aren't as loyal and hardcore as some of us older fans. These newer fans will be on to the next thing so fast, your head will spin. They aren't the ones clamoring for info. They aren't the ones dying for SOMETHING from this band. They aren't the ones that will buy ANYTHING and EVERYTHING this band puts out. This band needs to recognize the fans that have made them the Rock and roll legends they are. They need to drag their old asses into the 21st Century.
Wolfgang understands it. Fuck, he's been tweeting updates on tracking his bass parts for the next Tremonti album. Which by the way, I'm pretty fucking close to the point of being more excited about a new Tremonti album, than I am a new VH album. Yes, if you haven't listened to the last Tremonti album, or his Alter Bridge albums, you are doing yourself an injustice as a fan of rock and roll. Anyway, Wolfgang tweeted out a picture of his worn out pick, from tracking the new Tremonti album. He gets it! Obviously, as much as his old man has listened to him in recent years, he isn't listening now. Or maybe Wolfgang is just more excited about fresh new music with Tremonti, than he is about old rehashed stuff with VH. I just don't fucking know.
Sorry for the long rant. It's just frustrating as such a huge fan of this band, to be treated like we don't matter, by them. When I can walk into Best Buy and see Blu Ray DVD's from a show from the 1970's from Uriah fucking Heep (don't get me wrong, I like them), it fucking frustrates me.
Edward Van Halen needs to give me the combination to his fucking "vault". He needs to let me take over as the bands publicist. I'll fucking make them money, and make them more fucking relevant than they make themselves with all their fucking secrecy that 90% of the population doesn't give one fuck about.

I think it boils down to the fact that the brothers live in isolation and what little exposure they get from the outside world is within the narcissistic, psycho Hollywood world of Southern California. Their social circles all idolize each other and blow smoke up any available ass on the red carpet.
So anytime they step out of their gated compounds... they are treated like they deserve big star relevancy. That's the way that community operates and they're surrounded by it 24/7/365. If they spent any time outside the Hollywood circle... they'd discover 98% of the world doesn't give a shit who they are nor would even recognize them unless they stumbled across some old hippies or lost 80's losers.
Yeah Wolfgang gets it... he's making a life and name for HIMSELF. On the other hand... sure he loves his dad, but Van Halen is the dusty old, rusty crap of his old man's and uncle. Kids don't respect or take care anything their parents have or value... they didn't have to work for any of that shit. They'll just use it, abuse it then just toss it and walk away bored with it... That's what this entitled generation does.
They have quite capable and excellent industry management who could get an album, LP or anything out or book them gigs anywhere in the world. They just can't get Ed, Al & Dave's lazy asses off the couch... for any price!!
The saddest thing in play is the window to produce anything viable from the 3 original members is closing fast if it hasn't closed already...
