Van Halen Secretly Planning for 2015 Tour ???

Show me a "sign".

I could care less how many tickets they sell in any city. It ain't Van Halen. No more than it was Van Halen when Sammy was singing or Gary was singing. It ain't fuckin Van Halen. This band will always sell tickets on any tour. But will it be a "stellar production" or 3/4s of the greatest band that ever took the field? And IF Dave can't pull out the vocals then what did you really pay for? To see Dave and Ed hug? Fuck that. Been there, done that, bought the shirt.

Dave repeatedly said that the music should look like it sounds, right? But I say it should sound like it's supposed to sound. Screw the visual at this point. Dave is a tatted up, bald headed freak that runs around Japan and New York wearing wrestling masks. Hell, he even puts masks on his dog! The guy is an absolute train wreck of incredible proportions. And the only thing he can bring at this point is his voice. And IF he can't bring it for a live record - recorded in his new adopted home - then he's nothing more than a fruit cake running around with a camera.

I am a little boggled how we cant have consensus on this obvious point about concert capacity versus other event capacity. Its a moot point as it relates to "Van Halen" as you clearly articulated.

I thought everyone knew they were different (save for "in the round"). There is no 20,000 seat sellout in a 20,000 arena with a traditional stage setup...it would be 15,000 ish....and a few behind the stage if they could sell a few more.

I don't really have to go dig up these concert capacity factoids for Detroit arenas do I? I thought Von spent time "on the road" with Roth?

I am just correctly pointing out that there are no half full arenas for "Van Halen"....80 plus percent full on average. Nothing more than that.

I like fruit cake if it's good fruit cake but that's a rare item and I've been lucky to have partaken. If the fruit cake is bad which tends to be most of it, it really sucks.

I really don't give a ratt's behind. If it entertains you it entertains you. Whatever turns your crank. It's your money. It's your time. If you want to buy the ablum or buy the ticket then that's what you want to do. It's your life. It's short. Do whatever you want.

The slightly strange thing for me in this little internet argument is that for me the ideal is the smallest most full venue.

This is the case for me these days too. I'd rather see a band, any band, in a smaller venue. I realize it's an ego thing with the bigger bands, but I'd much rather see VH in a smaller venue.

I actually preferred seeing Dave in the Casino's and State Fairs, compared to the Roth/Clichegar tour where they played bigger venues.

True...that is why I went to one specific venue...the one in Vancouver where Van Halen played and looked at what the capacity was for specific events...like I said, 19,000 for hockey, `14,000 for concerts. All these venues are the same.

Except that now they're playing many ampitheaters, where the capacity is a full 20,000 for most venues....

Greensboro was pretty full last two tours..23000 seater maybe? I would be surprised to see them pull that off again..New music didnt make a difference..nobody but diehards heard ADKOT..so maybe they can pull it off..

This will be a surprisingly good tour. I know the the Tokyo record is a turd, but check out the 31st, they will be better than expected. Granted 2012 and the Tokyo Turd lower expectations greatly but it is going to fun and even Dave will sound better.

Another thing they should consider is having some sort of a stage show beyond just a screen.

No one is jumping from drum risers and the novelty of seeing the 3 of them back up there has gone so it needs freshened up.

Tremonti is playing at Welcome to Rockville festival at the end of April in down in Jacksonville. Lots of metal which my son likes, but he'd rather us see Slipknot at the Lakewood in July.
So ..... if Tremonti is touring this summer, how can Wolf play for VH ? Edward would be occupied then too, following Wolf around. Or does VH meet up with Tremonti later in the summer, have Tremonti open for their tour ? Then will Wolf do ..... double duty ?
